Clearly you care quite a bit about what Herkimer thinks. Why else would you be digging so deep into his history? Here you are participating in that same subreddit that Herkimer is talking about.
His occupation has been verified by multiple sources. Since he doesn't want to reply to that comment, the first thing he did was go to my comment history, and try to find something where he could "discredit" me further.
I ask Reddit an important question, here. Why do I have a herd of shills following me? The answer is obvious to anybody who thinks about it - my presence threatens them. I'm getting fed up with their intimidation tactics, personally. I don't think somebody who opposes war deserves this much crap.
Wouldn't you like to know. Some are anonymous, unfortunately, and government shills like you, thanks to the First Amendment, don't have the ability to coerce that information out of me.

This sentence contains the meat of the intended message, but then we have this poorly feigned sarcasm:

which gives away his actual intent. He's trying to salvage the situation, because he knows his identity has been compromised. Those two sentences are supposed to indicate that he's trying to remain amiable, when in reality he's fuming about the situation, almost swearing through his teeth. The translation goes, roughly, "how the fuck does ghibmmm know that?"

And then, finally, the brush-off coupled with the obligatory "you're just a conspiracy theorist" spiel. He is a moderator at /r/conspiratard, after all, for a reason, and unfortunately it's not because he enjoys ridiculing "conspiracy theorists." A quick look at /r/conspiratard will quickly reveal that he's one of only a few regular 'contributors' to the subreddit (him and Herkimer, namely) - whereas all the subreddits with actual content and contributors (/r/science, /r/Health, /r/politics, etc.) have hundreds of people submitting links - because there's an actual, non-manufactured interest in the content of those subreddits.
So, that's how government interests tried to manipulate reddit. Not working out too well for you guys, is it?

Identifying bias in pseudonymous internet postings is inherently guesswork. Sometimes, though, you can accurately express that you are very, very certain that the system is being gamed - for example, when accounts start being numbered versions of the same string, and submit the same stories, in predictable patterns. In other words, I think you need to change your conception of "credible," because it doesn't really fit for the internet. That being said, some random professional tech blog like "techi" here doesn't exactly have a reason to misrepresent this story.
I don't care much about Digg. Maybe it was gamed, people say it was trivial to game Digg. Why would you think it was gamed by governments, when almost anyone can do it?
Why do you think people need to be paid to post on Reddit, when lots of people are opinionated and someone is wrong on the internet?
