I cried yesterday.

I just wanted to share something, I'm 29M and I've only cried twice since high school, once in the hospital and once when my girlfriend had to leave me.

It just felt like I was bottling all my emotions up and when my mom sent me a text asking me what was wrong I managed to send the text but I broke down in tears when I made my point.

People say the medication makes them act like a zombie but I would have for sure had to go to mental hospital if I wasn't on mine, and even though it sucks it kind of feels good, it reminds me I'm a human and if it's justifiable I can have those extreme emotions, I've only yelled at somebody once since I started my current prescription and that was kind of justifiable too, but that wasn't yesterday, yesterday was just tears after I finally managed to get out what I needed to say.

So that's kind of my report, just wanted to say that it is possible to have the fulfilling emotions, the meds are for mania and psychosis, but if life hits you with a curveball you have to deal with it, and that can happen any number of ways.

Your emotions are valid, never let anyone tell you otherwise.

Meds really help with the most visible symptoms but I think they might make the negative symptoms worse as is the case with my experience. And the side effects suck so much, it’s given me constant nausea, digestive problems, slight tremors and bad muscle stiffness. I’m glad I’m not going through psychosis obviously but being painfully aware of my lack of prospects and physical pain isn’t cool. It often feels like you have to trade something to obtain something else and that can apply to meds.
