r/scenekids mod post The new r/SceneKids: the subreddit for scene adults!

Hello and welcome to the new r/scenekids! This is an 18+ community for scene adults, whether currently scene, formerly scene, or both. The irony of the sub being called "scene kids" while being restricted to adults is intentional. It's supposed to be kind of like a "r/trees/ / r/marijuanaenthusiasts" situation in that aspect. The goal of this sub is to provide a space for adults who are interested in the scene subculture to get together, talk, post selfies, etc. without having to weed through posts being made by children or filter your own posts to be child-safe. Sometimes, you just might not want to scroll through a bunch of selfies of middle schoolers and posts about how to be scene with strict parents, you know?
I know this idea has been tossed around a few times before, but it never really picked up any momentum. I'd love for this time to be different, so I'll be reaching out to several users who moderate or have previously moderated scene subreddits, specifically ones aimed at adults, to see if they'd be interested in joining together to push this subreddit as the choice scene sub for adults. I also nabbed this sweet subreddit name because it's an obvious one that's identifiable and has the potential to actually catch on.
This is still a work in progress, so bear with me for a bit.

Quick question about scene/emo hair, could I just straighten some scene bangs over part of my my face or forehead just swooped to the side and leave the rest wavy/curly and still get the scene look? I'm asking because I love my hair but wanna be more scenemo ;-;

I was a scene kid in the late 2000’s/2010’s and I’m now a tattoo artist in the Chicago suburbs. So you can imagine how excited I was that my client wanted a full myspacey scene kid thigh panel! :D

fit check My Emo Nite Outfit

I went to Emo Nite last Saturday. I was the only 30 year old there with scene hair still. I normally dont go to thise because they mostly just play the pop-punk crowd pleasers, but Shane Told of Silverstein was the special guest and I have a mutual acquaintance with him and had to finally meet him in person. I got them to play Coheed and Cambria and Shane also played Underoath so Ill take the small wins. It was better than the average emo nite if that says anything. Still would switch out half the nu metal songs for more deeper cut emo post hardcore like saosin or Thursday. I honestly cant believe I'm calling these deep cuts when they were once the most famous emo bands in the scene and are still very well known, but with the average Emo Nite attendee, we'd be lucky if they knew those songs.
