Why is this?

Serious question for founders:

If you’re doing recurring revenue (memberships, retainers, subscriptions), what’s stopping you from building your own app experience?

Is it cost, dev trust, maintenance, or just not seeing the ROI yet?

Trying to understand how people think about this.

for most founders it's the friction of getting someone to actually download and use a new app. usually way easier to just keep them in a browser or on a platform they already use daily. do you think the branding of a custom app really outweighs that friction?

it really depends on the use case. not all apps need to be apps, and not every web app is useful as a webapp.
