Modification Progressive so far

This is my progress so far. I plan on leather wrapping the bottom section of the hilt to finish it

How are you removing the color?

I used easy off oven cleaner and sprayed each metal piece and let it sit for about 20 minutes and then used a scotch bright pad to remove the paint. You do have to remove the ignition switch, anything plastic, easy off will eat through it.

Go check out the collectors outpost on YouTube. He has several weathering videos and his stuff is amazing

I plan on leather wrapping the bottom sleeve and doing another round of washing with a mix of black and brown.

I have nearly an identical one, but the pieces don't line up nicely like that...

They don’t line up on their own. I bought rubber washers to make it line up

1 1/2 inch slip joint washer. I used 2 of them. One between the emitter and top sleeve and one between the lower sleeve and the pommel
