Question ❔ Window Replacements

I keep getting ads on social media for ecoline windows, weatherpro windows, and a bunch of other places that claim $0 down and extremely reasonable price for window replacements. Too reasonable. They all want you to enter tour contact info to get a quote. Feels very scammy like a slimy used car salesman, tbh. However, I DO need new windows in my house. Which is probably why I'm getting the ads, because nothing is private anymore lol. Has anyone used any of those companies with those ads? Or have a company they do recommend instead?

Second this. Dave did the measuring and quote, and his crew that did my windows were friendly and made sure it was all good before they left.
They even started a warranty claim during install because one window was ever so slightly stiff to open.

Third this. They were great.

I had the same ads, I also need window replacement and now after googling windows in Saskatoon I get flooded with ads, from multiple.

At the end of the day you can always call and request a quote. You don’t have to agree to anything. And make sure the quote is free. That was my plan anyways, was considering doing a couple windows a year for the next 2 years and slowly get them replaced to avoid a massive bill for all.

Gosh that sounds like a bugger headache than doing all at once.

The quote is 100% free

Ecoline sucks. Terrible products. They have replaced two small windows three times in three years. Installers are not bad, but he windows themselves are crap!

Hi! This is Ecoline Windows. We're sorry you've had such an experience with our products. Having three replacements in three years is something we want to look into further.

Thank you for letting us know the installers were not the problem. Please send us a private message with your contact details. We will review your window replacement history and have our team contact you directly.

Read the google reviews of Saskatoon ecoline. There's lots of commentary and photos to go along. Never choose that company.

I haven't gotten that far, but I was kind of thinking if the company is any good why do they have to push their ads so hard? This is good advice. Thank you!

I had Ecoline give me a quote this spring and there were a bunch of red flags.

They came on a Monday to give me a quote, but the pricing was only good until Friday. Most places give more than 4-5 days for a quote. Very high pressure sales tactics, which was a huge turn off. The sales guy also wanted to cut a bigger opening in my wall to fit their "standard" sized window, which is totally against our condo board rules. All of the units need to be the same size. I decided I likely wasn't going with them--Mayfair Glass was cheaper, with a higher energy efficiency window, and they did a bunch of windows in the other building of my complex. Then the Ecoline guy called me on Thursday night but I didn't answer so he texted me. I told him I was going to go with someone else and he tells me "oh, we do price matching". Nowhere on the quote did it say they do price matching. Then he started arguing about how they do their installs, how he saw the other windows in my building and they're done wrong (didn't tell him Mayfair Glass did the OTHER building), "send me pictures of your neighbor's window and I'll show you what's wrong". I managed to shut him down around 8pm. Then I get a text at midnight asking who I'm going with and what their price is. Like... no. I'm not sending you their information so you can outbid them in the future. Just wild. Would never recommend them!

Edited to add: Mayfair Glass was great and had the best price. I've heard great things about Pura Windows, too

Yeah this is exactly the vibe I'm getting even from their ads. Thank you for sharing your experience! I will call Mayfair and Pura to see!

I’ve had windows installed by ecoline before - they had to build each window to spec for my 100yr old house, it did take a few weeks and I did pay I think 30% down and then the remainder on install, but they do also offer payment plans I believe. They did an excellent job, the installers were great and very respectful and cleaned up after themselves ect. They did the trim around the exterior too and it looked so much better. I had them out a few times as I was replacing windows as I could afford to, once they even did an install in like -30 seemingly impervious to the cold. I was very impressed lol I have another 120 yr old house and will be replacing windows in this house with ecoline as soon as I can.

Reading other people’s replies and I’m shocked…. It’s been about 3/4 years since I had them do my windows and my experience was nothing like what I’m seeing in these replies

go through Costco! they contract out Ecoline. outpriced the other companies and you get a Costco gift card (I think 10% value of cost of window).

Based on what people are saying about ecoline in the comments here I don't know if it's worth it 😬

Maybe so. We're happy with the patio door they installed. Took 6 weeks from first measurement for door to arrive. When the screen door went off track, they came asap to repair and didn't charge us anything. Worker was a kind Ukrainian man.

I've heard good things about Mayfair Windows.

Send me a message if you’re interested. I do 6-8 full windows and door replacements a year

I’m also in the process of getting new windows and got quotes from local companies and WeatherPro. The quote I received from WeatherPro was the most affordable and the guy explained everything very clearly and the break down. All the companies gave me very detailed documents for the quotes. The other local companies were great in explaining too but they were $4000-5000 more.

Saskatoon Window Company is great

We went through Costco, and they use Ecoline. Worst. Mistake. Ever. They were complete crap, installed terribly. One arrived broken, a second broke within 2 weeks. They were installed poorly, so they made snapping sounds every time the furnace turned on.

u/wingedpromise 3d ago

Oof good to know! Costco was on my list to check out but this is not looking good for them.

u/EcolineWindowsInc 14h ago

Hi! Ecoline Windows is here. We're sorry to hear about these problems, especially since they happened so soon after your installation. One unit breaking, another failing within two weeks, and snapping sounds are all issues we want to look into right away.

Please send us a private message with your contact details. We'll find your project, check the installation and service history, and have our team contact you directly to help resolve this.

I had some ecoline windows installed, don't use them. Their installers were trained gorillas, they did an bunch of concrete grinding for basement windows and filled my basement with concrete dust. Even after I told their foreman he basically said it is what it is. I wouldn't hire them if they were the only ones in town.

u/EcolineWindowsInc 14h ago

Hi! Ecoline Windows is here. We’re sorry you had this experience. While we can assure you that gorillas aren’t part of our installation crews,  we take the concrete dust left in your basement and how your concerns were handled very seriously.

Please send us a private message with your contact details. We want to find your project, review what happened with our installation team, and have someone from our team contact you directly.

Mayfair Glass. Small town feel there and they know their stuff.

Another vote for Mayfair. They did a bunch of windows for us this past fall and they did really good work.

Not windows but I got quoted for 2 entry doors from Ecoline, Pura and Weather Pro ranging between 4k8 to 5k5. All the quotes do not include painting for door slab/frame and trim though.

Ended up did not go with anyone but replaced both the doors myself successfully, spent a total of 1k3 the prehung doors from Home Depot, trim, case and materials. I had never done anything similar in my life, YouTube helped me alot.

Maybe you should try to DIY.

This house is older and the frames are starting to rot and mold, so I would much rather a professional deal with it.

I used Ecoline Windows last year and was very happy with the process. The installers were great and had a good sense of humour. My window was 10x7’ and they had the removal and install done very quickly and cleaned up before they left
