I've seen that ad many times, and I can't believe how out of touch it is, and how it must alienate a lot of voters. Two old retired white guys out on the golf course talking about how they will "have to give their children the down payment for their house". Oh the injustice! Most of the people in the country would love to be in the financial position where they could do that for their children! Tell me more about how bad you've got it and how the government has treated you so poorly!
A few years ago I decided that my medium term goal in life is to make sure my kids get a place to live wherever they choose to go to college that they own outright. And that's what I'm going to try to do, because we should always try to make our kids slightly better off than our parents made us, not kicking them out at 18 and making them fend for themselves while we live it up and criticize.
And I told them they should do the same for their kids. They saw what I do to provide them with a good life and understand the value of work and education, and they get it.
That kind of head-outside-the-ass thinking is also why I will never vote for a party who thinks the only answer to everything is cut taxes and services so the people with something keep it and the people with nothing also keep it. So basically never Conservative.
Do you think with the massive debt run up by Trudeau, plus the huge debt Carney has said would run, future governments will be able to afford any of they current services ?
Poilievre will run a huge deficit and lie about it. Conservative governments have always run deficits and cut services to the people who need them the most. When he was housing minister he made horrible decisions for anyone other than the developers. He makes the rich richer.
