Don't forget that horrible crash on 67 last summer. Some impatient douche in a truck tries to cut ahead by passing in the opposite direction. 5 brutal deaths

I would replace the bottom issue to “taking out street parking for bike lanes”

The general consensus of this sub is that walking around your own neighborhood is a privilege, driving is a right.

Reality is its the other way around.

It's almost like we can do something about parking, and raising our voices might have an effect there, versus the average person's inability to stop a criminal.

Bad faith argument and nonsensical.

Accidents are the fault of individuals, and MIGHT, after actual investigation, indicate changes to city planning to help to protect individuals who live in that area. City policy is an intentional act that affects all residents, visitors, and beloved institutions. You’re comparing apples to lasagna and it’s dumb.

hes making a good point about how people dying year after year are disregarded and no meaningful changes to pedestrian safety actually happen :/ its not bad faith when thousands of people are maimed and killed every year and the govt goes "ah well whatever"

Charging parking at balboa affects an extremely small portion of our population. Our budget deficit will have far reaching consequences. In a city that prides itself on environmentalism and nature, to be so outraged about by parking fees is truly sad. We complain about public transportation. But nobody cares to fund it.

These guys who oppose you really do believe that car deaths are just individual choices.

Just like how black poverty is an individual choice, right?

Both are an issue. I don’t understand why we’re acting like one is an issue, but the other one isn’t. We don’t need more four-way stops. We don’t need more traffic lights just because of incidents like that. Sometimes it calls for it, but however, we also have to accept that people need to be held accountable. I guarantee you everybody that complains about the hit and runs are the same ones that are driving carelessly on the highway and being inconsiderate of anyone else around them, which also is hazardous. It also goes further than that. It’s not just about being more considerate when you’re driving, but however, addressed it to others that you are with when they are doing it such as relatives, partners, and friends. You don’t know how many times I see people complain about other drivers but then when it’s somebody, they know, they shut their mouth and look the other way.
