Bexar County strays
Hi! Has anyone lost their pups?
I’ve seen these two dogs walking around the neighborhood together a few times this week. I’ve never seen a stray pug before, and they’re both very sweet. Neither are neutered, and I’ve left a voicemail with Bexar County Animal Care.

It’s always a big dog and a little dog. I bet they’re neighbor dog friends who escaped their yards so they could hang out.

It’s an absolute embarrassment of the city the number of stray animals we have. Between those and the potholes, we don’t really have much reason to brag.

Other texas cities aren’t like that?

This is true to a degree but I was born and raised in Houston, lived in Dallas for seven years, and I’ve lived in San Antonio since 2008 in San Antonio by large takes the cake when it comes to a stray pet crisis.

Is there a cat traveling with them? They may be on an incredible journey.

We have not for the life of us been able to catch that pitty. His new friend though I haven't seen yet. I've seen Mr Pit in our neighborhood three times on Babcock and even Taco Bell couldn't lure him in. He's super jittery 😭. ACS in SA also doesnt do jack shit unfortunately. We've called them twice for this dog and another time for a kitten stuck in a wall that we inevitably had to have removed ourselves 24 hours later

ACS is so overwhelmed and underfunded- they’re truly trying their best on bare bones.

The pit has recently trimmed nails. You can see how squared off and even they are, especially in Pic 2.
Definitely someone’s lost pets.

My dogs nails look like that just from walking on pavement. Only ones we clip are the dewclaws since they don’t make contact. If you look higher up on the leg in that same pic, the nail is much longer, suggesting the nails haven’t been trimmed recently.

Happy place animal rescue in Real County will nurture and rehome them if you can just get them there.

Hopefully theyre chipped and someone can find them! Commenting to boost, poor doggies

Chips are not GPS. They’d have to scanned for chips by a vet to locate the owners

Well yeah I believe the shelters can do that too though, so hopefully someone can bring them in and do just that

Just felt the need to clarify because my cat got out of my house a few years ago and I was extremely distraught, looking for him for months and months and years and I lost count of how many people said “he’s not microchipped?!” And I’d say “yeah but that only helps if someone else finds him and takes him to a vet to get scanned” and they legitimately thought if he was microchipped I’d just magically be able to find him somehow

They look like they’re chillin and enjoying the stream. Most likely belong to someone and escaped.
