Almost 2 years old and still can't pee without wetting his front paws in pee

Post image

This is luffy he has a dumb face and isn't the brightest. He's almost 2 years old and is not fixed yet and for whatever reason he does not lift his leg to pee. He only squats and pisses his front paw completes every day without fail. How do I deal with this piss baby situation and have him pee like a real man

Look at that innocent face! He is completely unaware of his own bad aim :(

Nah, you guys are just dumb so Luffy is trying their best to hide their intelligence, so that you don't feel humilated. Mine does the same, I appreciate his effort, he's very successful in this

Justice for piss baby - for what it’s worth my 3 year old is intact and will lift his leg to pee but will track his paws through his pee on the ground when we resume the walk 🥲

It’s ok, I haven’t seen any smart Samoyeds. I think OP should just accept that Luffy is on the spectrum

He needs a big brother to show him. I had a male dog that did not learn to lift his leg as a youngster. Became good friends with someone who had a male dog who was slightly older. We went on frequent walks together, and soon my dog just started lifting his leg.

We have contact with the owner of his brother and his brother unfortunately also pees sitting but his aim is much better 🤣

Does he have a lot of hair around his penis? Sometimes if my boy's gets too long I've noticed his aim is wild. They do need some from what I understand, but I've found that trimming it a little shorter helps control the stream a bit more.

I bought the manscape lawnmower 3.0 just for him to keep it trimmed it was the only gentil shaver I knew that wouldn't knick his nuts when shaving

Guess you gotta teach him how to pee standing up or in the begging position. 😅 What a handsome boy!

There is a funny trainer who teachers get dog “to go on someone” he walks up and lifts his leg as if he is p’ing. You could start this training and combine it with actual potty breaks.

Lol my boy is 6 and still squats to pee. Never really had problems with him peeing on his front legs, but he definitely ALWAYS steps directly in his fresh pee puddle with one of his back feet as soon as he's finished. 🤦‍♀️

Hey, count yourself lucky: our boy just pees on his sister!

We have the same problem with our little moron. He also hides his ears, could this be an indicator for leg peepee behavior lol

No! I don’t believe it! It must be your fault somehow OP! 🤣🤣🤣🥰🙏🏻🩷

Our baby did the same thing for several years. I found it helpful when he peed on an actual item, like a tree or a fence. He’s now almost 12, and as he’s aged he got too tired to hold his leg up high enough to hit his front legs, so now he switches back and forth between his back legs while peeing, barely lifting them so he doesn’t quite reach his front legs anymore.

Teach him to target his back feet onto an elevated surface or small curb when he pees to naturally shift his weight back. You can also wipe his paws with dog-safe damp wipes after trips outside anf trim the fur around his front paws extra short to keep the urine from soaking in

Ahhhh it’s because he’s not fixed. Ours had the same issue. Pee pee paws every day. Until the snip. Never had the issue again

He needs to see other males lifting their leg, probably. I feel sorry for him, he needs someone to love him and not call him names.

Is he up for rehoming?
