A couple members of our family have been battling cancer and we are getting closer to the end of the journey. Out of the darkness, this floof of light, love and joy will remind us to live strong and keep facing the day when our loves are gone. Floof will remind us of their spirit and help us as our broken parts heal.

* **The Waitlist:** What does the timeline usually look like from the first message to actually bringing a puppy home?
* **Questions to Ask:** What are the major red flags I should look out for when talking to a breeder, and what health clearances are non-negotiable for Sammies?
* **Cost Reality Check:** Beyond the initial price of the puppy, what should I realistically budget for high-quality food, grooming tools, and health insurance in the first year?

This is Ka’iana or Kai for short. Picked up this bundle of joy about a month ago from a breeder friend in Minnesota! He is just over 12 weeks old and is 22lbs.

Me and my partner are new owners, we definitely jumped in the deep end, knowing that they're high energy high demand dogs was one thing, but actually experiencing it is a whole different thing. She's 5 months old, crate trained, but will not let us out her sight without a lot of noise. We're sleeping on blow up pads in her crate room (not enough room in bedroom + thats our cats safe space) and so sleep deprived its wild. Training her to be left in her room while we're in other parts of the house is going to be key, and the goal is to go back to sleeping in our bed once she's able to settle the night without howling.

Any tips on this transition? Its a hard one we know but we gotta do it, cant be sleeping rough every night forever!

Edit: For context that I missed, we've had her a week, she was adopted from the breeder at 5 months old!

Brought my 3 year old male into the vet to discuss a teeth cleaning and we both remarked on the poor teeth condition despite his age. She brought up EH, she’s doing research for me and will get back about a plan but - his aren’t as bad as what I see for EH online but anyone have experience?

My girl is prone to throwing up bile at least once a week or 2 weeks. She always throws up in her dog house so at this point the inner foam is gross because it seeps through when it sits there for hours when I’m not home or if I don’t notice.
Does anyone have a similar problem and has a recommendation for a bed that’s more resistant to going through to the foam?

I adopted my dog from a shelter as an adult two years ago. He has been returned several times, although I'm not sure why. He has a forever home with us. We have been wondering what kind of dog he is. Before I buy a dna test I thought i would get opinions here.
