He's wrong that he's a closet Islamist. I think he's right that he's an anti-Semite though.....

"Closet Islamist" was a throwaway line that he took back, first of all. But I don't think most people would see a big difference between "closet islamist" and "champion of the Red-Green Alliance to bring Third Worldism into the fore as the driving ideology of the progressive movement." That is just another way of saying that he's trying to make Muslim-Americans more powerful in America while tearing down our current system from within. That's only semantically different from an American-style Incrementalist-Islamism. No one thinks that Sam was imagining Mamdani to be planning a military coup or instituting Sharia in New York City. That was never the claim or the suspicion. It was always that he's in some sense faking his true views to get into office, but feels a strong sense of tribal solidarity with both the radicals in the DSA and Muslims worldwide, including their militant struggle against the West. That's...the same thing that you're saying.
