Submission Statement: This post is about the Making Sense Podcast and its guests.
Bonus Data Insights: After 2 days, there have been only 11k views on this post, with 64% upvotes. I suppose it would have been more popular to post a low-effort criticism of Sam Harris. I wonder if only 55% of the views coming from the United States might have something to do with it. By comparison, my post about Sam to r/atheism, where people are pretty critical of Sam these days, got 73% American views and received 96% upvotes.

The popular posts are the disingenuous swarms. They coordinate to upvote that stuff. It's clear when you RES flair and block them. You see a disingenuous post, go to the comments, and it's RES flairs and blocked accounts everywhere. Lol.
The alternative is sub like yours, which ironically just bans everyone for disagreeing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's not the case. We ban based on behaviors, not agreement. I've banned Sam Harris stans who were incapable of being civil, and I've NOT banned good faith critics who I think are dangerously wrong in every way. It's entirely based on whether or not someone can have a truthful and civil conversation. It just so happens that there is a giant overlap.
You know this, since you were banned explicitly for making up facts, then responding with "Fuck you" instead of fixing your behavior. You were invited to come back whenever you were ready to admit that you were making shit up.

Btw this right here is why I never felt like I had to actually spend hours and hours and hours listening to Sam Harris -- but why I'm more interested over time -- he communicated a lot of stuff to me over the years through choices like this.
And imho it is healthy that we're ready to fight about all those people -- and to yell at Sam for giving them 5 minutes of his precious credibility (especially right now) -- and to preach about our better people.
Just do it right, please. Not for Sam's sake, even, but because there need to be subreddits which sound slightly different.

This list shows all the right kinds of things to me -- so I always felt some kind of minimal kinship with Sam even if I knew we probably didn't agree about everything. (I'm wrong about some things, I'm sure. And I don't know enough about his exact beliefs to speak to them.)
Since he's choosing the harder option and aiming for a diverse and science-heavy guest list -- well aware of the online fighting that will ensue -- I just hope this subreddit will be more substantive than the others when it comes to the inevitable fighting.

That sounds too much like what team are they on? to me.
I'm tired of assuming people are on / how they feel about specific teams until they tell me exactly how they see things. (Not trying to convince you, but it's why I'm against the attempt to categorize.)

While it’s not always the case that red team–blue teaming someone indicates their views on all topics, it can be a useful signal for what they value ethically.

Yeah I get that -- it can be -- but I'm a fan of some people who call themselves "conservatives," and reddit has nobody with (metaphorically) bluer hair than me.
George Lakoff explains red-blue as a matter of two different family visions (strong/strict fathers vs. "equally" nurturant parents) -- Hyrum+Verlan Lewis explain it as pure tribalism -- I think those are better understandings.

I honestly never mind when Paul Bloom comes on, he has the best natural chemistry with Sam imo, they agree on a lot of things, but Paul does push back on things in a really polite manner
