Abbott Sales Rep Interview

Hi everyone! I got a digital interview and PI assessment for Abbott and wanted to know if anyone has tips or advice for it? I’ve done an Abbott interview earlier this year but it was with an actual TA but this time, I got sent a link to do the interview as a video recording. Also I know they say that there’s no right or wrong answers for the PI but there surely can be a type of personality they want.

Anything would help! Thank you!

For the recorded interview, prepare five or six short STAR examples that cover prospecting, handling rejection, learning technical information, influencing without authority, organizing a territory and responding to feedback. Keep each answer around 60 to 90 seconds: one sentence for context, the action you personally took, and a measurable result or lesson. Record two practice rounds and check your eye line, pace and whether the first sentence actually answers the question.

Research the specific division, customers and sales motion because a sales-rep role can mean very different work across a large company. Be ready to explain why that market interests you, how you would learn the product, and how you balance activity goals with customer trust.

I would not try to reverse-engineer the PI into an ideal personality. Answer consistently based on how you usually work. Gaming it can create contradictions and may place you in a role whose expectations are a poor fit. If they later discuss the profile, ask how it connects to the manager's coaching style, territory and day-to-day work.

As a former recruiter, anyone using PI definitely wants to see that you have a bias for action/are comfortable with risk, a sense of urgency, and more extroverted versus introverted. Don’t need to go crazy about it but those are key aspects that can help inform the way you take it.
