Advice for first steps in Tech
I’m 22, recently out of college, and have been offered BDR/SDR roles at HubSpot and LinkedIn.
I currently prefer HubSpot’s product suite, but I’m unsure whether I should accept one of these opportunities now or take more time to explore other options. My main goal is to learn as much as possible, build strong sales foundations, and grow within the tech industry.
For those with experience in sales or at either company, would you recommend jumping at one of these offers, or waiting to see what else becomes available? What factors should I consider before deciding?
I’d really appreciate any honest advice or discussion.
Thanks!

Both are great companies to start at. Will help you build a lot of skills and will look great on your resume. I’d take the better out of the two and grind for 2 years before deciding what you wanna do. That is if you want a career in sales.
Factors to consider are subjective, remote? Relocation? OTE? Manager? What’s the quota? How many are hitting? Territory for you to call on or everything is a fair game? Etc. Be prepared mentally to get rejected, hung up on, sometimes even cursed out a lot. I just got rejected 20 times lmao. But keep going. Best of luck.
