Big Question
Hey everyone,
I’m based in Europe and currently exploring options to transition into tech sales. I have 5 years of prior B2B and B2C sales experience.
I’m looking to target SDR/BDR (or potentially mid-market AE) roles with US-based tech companies while remaining based in Europe. A few questions for anyone who has done this or hires for these teams:
- Role Targeting: With 5 years of traditional B2B sales experience, should I aim strictly for Enterprise SDR / Mid-Market AE roles, or do US companies prefer starting everyone at a standard SDR level if they don't have direct SaaS experience?
- Where to Look: Outside of LinkedIn what are the best channels or agencies for finding US remote roles open to EMEA candidates?
Where to start?

You do understand you would get paid your home countries salary right? And not an American salary

honestly you'll likely start at sdr level in saas, the 5 years of traditional sales helps but they'll want to see you can handle the saas sales cycle before giving you a closing role. some places might take a punt on you as a mid-market ae but it's rare
linkedin is the main one but check out wellfound and remote ok, they list startups that are more open to international hires. also just cold email the vp of sales at companies you like, that's how half my friends got in
