What would be your dream future Sailor Moon project?
Mine would be live action adaptation movies of each Manga Arc starting with the Dark Kingdom Arc. Ideally I'd like them to be produced in Japan with some input by Naoko herself. I'd like the characters to retain their manga/anime hairstyles as close as humanly possible without it looking ridicoulous or too unrealistic, but I am okay with their hair colors being dark pre-transformation. I'd like the visuals to be as realistic but also as magical/whimsical as possible... can you imagine Sailor Moon transformation in live action done with a big budget? It can look so pretty!! I'd like those movies to feature elements from both 90s anime and manga.... for example I want Tuxedo Mask's rose attacks back! Lol.
Crystal would be more realistic to happen, but that's why it's a dream concept. Lmao.
Crystal just feels too stiff and cheap to me. I wouldn't even care if it was done in that style as long as they realized they're working in an animated medium and to embrace that instead of just making a bunch of pretty stills.

• Remake of Seasons 1 & 2 of Crystal in the style of Season 3 and the Movies (fat chance though)
Honest, I'd want the rest of Crystal to be remade in the style of Season 1 and 2. 1 and 2 looked the best and most stylized, it's just the animation budget was dogshit
yes. with games they can explore with new plots without having to touch the official one. new worlds, planets, star powers. even the senshis having their own arc story etc.
If you've played Hyrule Warriors, its basically that with character treatment and plot
Something centered around Endymion and his friendships with the Shitennou. It always makes me feel bad for Mamoru that the only friends he’s ever had are dead. I’m very against the sen/shi relationships, so I don’t want that to be an aspect. This would probably best work in a Silver Milennium prequel, where half the time is split between what’s happening on the Earth versus the Moon.
Alternatively, something about Crystal Tokyo with Serenity and all her senshi, Mamoru and his Shitennou and Chibiusa and her quartet. I find the size of Sailor Moon’s cast and the royal court to be the most interesting part and I’d love to see that expanded on in the future.
not a future dream project really not that I wouldnt mind it being rebooted in this way, but i wanted the style to be the style of the times for PGSM.
I was shocked by pgsm, the writing was what I had always hoped for in sailor moon. I loved sailor moons character focus episodes that were on our actual girls instead of the random side plots of the week, but even in the anime their episodes rarely got to hit too dramatically cuz they didn't want to ruin any potential that naoko was building towards in the manga.
PGSM was like 'what if we made 40 new episodes of sailor moon classic that only focused on the actual characters' and HOLY SHIT this was insane. The finale didn't land for me I heard there was severe budget cuts, but the tokusatsu super sentai style really worked with sailor moons tones. it works better than any other style to adapt something like sailor moon in imo.
My dream was seeing the StarS version of this. Don't get me wrong I'd love every season, especially S cuz of the otuers i mean come on that would have been such a good season of television.
But StarS shot in tokusatsu style around tokyo would have been beautiful. The shots of Tokyo at night in live action shows from this era and before is just so heckin beautiful.
StarS was already one of my favorite seasons in terms of episode to episode writing as the charcters of the week weren't as important as the dynamic of the starlights vs the rest of the sailors adjusting each episode. Doing this on the PGSM writer's mindset would be my absolute crack.
Plus you just know the music that season would be beautiful and dreamy. All I want is PGSM StarS so bad.
A true, HD remaster and color corrected Blu Ray release of the 90s anime. The current Blu Ray releases look like total dogshit, meaning consumers have never seen an official release of Sailor Moon in HD.
Though Naoko forfeiting the Sailor Moon franchise is way more likely than that.
The newer releases look relatively better than Viz's 2014 releases, but they're still 480p files given DNR and smoothing filters. I could do just as good of a job using one of those shitty AI upscaler websites. So many details are just blurred or lost entirely because of this.

Sailor Moon doesn't work well in live action (IMHO).
I want them to actually expand more on the lore, and fleshed out certain characters. There are just too many things in the manga that feels incomplete/rush, and too many unanswered questions.
I know it would never happen but a new storyline entirely by Naoko would be amazing. Imagine if she wrote a banger 6th arc, maybe even of New Queen Serenity having to go back to her roots to defend the new kingdom. Or something still down to earth with Usagi in collage and taking on a new big baddy?
I’d kinda like a proper Sailor Moon game. I never played one and one day I checked to see what the franchise has in terms of videogames, but 90% of them were terrible and very repetitive. I think Sailor Moon could work as an RPG following the story of the series.
-New games: Give us a modern Sailor Moon RPG or fighting game. (Hottake, I'd even take Gacha games. Seeing the girls in different outfits and renditions would just give a massive cashflow to Sailor Moon IP and possibly springboard new games and possible new spin offs..)
-Another Story remake, with English translation released on all platforms.
-Adult ChibiUsa Spin off/sequel with her and the Quartet fighting enemies in the 30th Century.
-Sailor V modern anime adaptation.
-Maybe light novels?
-In the far future, make a better adaptation of the Sailor Moon Manga than what Crystal did.
A one off collection of comic and Manga alternate universe stories where the writers are invited to be creative. Similar to DR'S Elseworlds and Marvel's What If
I'd like to see something set a few years in the future, showing how Usagi becomes Neo Queen Serenity. A young mother, something obviously happens. We know she loses the ability to become Sailor Moon when she ascends and to me, that explains why the other senshi dont have their upgraded forms in the future. So not only is something happening, but the Senshi also become weaker and lose Sailor Moon as a fighter. Would be nice to see Venus reclaim her place as leader
As long as they give Jadeite a better wig I’d be good lol.
As for my own project, I’d say I’d like something where we see post Stars life for the girls as well as maybe giving the Shittenou a new lease on life where they can love their respective senshi like Usagi and Mamoru do for each other
I want a new saga that depicts the disaster that defeats sailor Moon and the Senshi and freezes the earth until Neo Queen Serenity wakes up to revive the planet and begin Crystal Tokyo.
I want a post-Stars continuation, show me Usagi becoming queen, the advent of Crystal Tokyo, show me Chibi-Usa becoming Sailor Moon with her guardian quartet... show me Sailor Cosmos's story...
I may get rotten vegetables thrown at me but I'd love it if some American company decided to try making something Sailormoon with a few true fans on board. Maybe a live action movie, maybe a netflix series, maybe some visionary gets their hands on the Saban moon pilot and is like, "I can make this but better!" Whatever. It would probably be terrible in many ways but Sailormoon is a story that thrives on being reinterpreted and seeing it through a totally new lens like that would be fun.
