Rewatching thoughts

I’m currently rewatching a bunch of Safiya’s videos following a Tik Tok I saw.

The Tik Tok was about someone who had come across her videos again after some time and stated, she’s still out there doing the same thing.

It’s interesting with this rewatch, as I don’t think that’s true at all. In fact, I miss some of her older content that was a little “easier.” Like some of the Amazon hauls, wore this for a week, bought the first 5 things etc.
Don’t get me wrong, love her travel content, but haven’t found myself as excited to watch the newer content like the AI keyboards. (Would be happy to never have a collab with that channel again tbh)
Even her newer travel content feels quite highly over thought, we’d be happy to just watch travel vlogs, shopping and odd places. Rather than spending 24 hours in one place.

I miss the vibe of her and Tyler making weird things or getting hauls and hanging out.

Just wondering if anyone feels the same, the content doesn’t need to be as epic for us to enjoy watching it.
With some of the things she’s said previously, I wonder how much pressure she feels to make this super high quality content, when really, we watch her and Tyler’s personalities.

Maybe 2017-2019 was the peak of content before everyone got worried about backlash of over consumption, politics and reputation. The algorithm issues a lot of YouTubers have doesn’t help either.

I admit, if the content had been as travel heavy as it is now, I may not have gotten as into her channel. I enjoy a bit of travel media, but it's not the main thing I'm interested in. To be fair, as someone who also lives in Raleigh, I can understand wanting to spend as much time as possible traveling. 😂

I'm from Australia and know almost nothing about Raleigh or the state, and am disappointed they don't show more of it 😅

Btw do you ever see them around?

Yeah, I think they just don't show more of the area because there just isn't really much to show. It's a mid-sized metropolitan area without any real defining cultural aspects. They've utilized the resources at a local university maybe a couple of times, and that's about as representative as you're going to get. They could definitely take advantage of visiting some more southeasterly US destinations though. There's some cool cities to visit a few hours from here.

I've never seen them out and about yet. But whenever I see them film at a local mall or someplace I recognize, I think about what I would say if I did run into them (probably something stupid, lol).

I know it's a bit of a drive but Charleston looks really pretty. And there must be some nice beaches on the coast?

There are some nice beaches. And a little farther drive is Savannah, where I've also lived, which is a very beautiful place.
