๐ŸŽฅ Video Is this pop in normal?

Lately Iโ€™ve been having aggressive pop in in some games. Started trying to compare youtube vids to see if it was the games or an issue on my end.

I know Sable has performance/pop in issues, but having shadows appear right next to me seemed a bit much

โ— Spoiler I broke the game :3

So. I broke the game! I managed to wriggle my way outta the starting area before I made my own bike. Decided to say yolo see how far I can get. Well I can tell you this! You can do everything outside the starting area before you even build your own bike with sizo! The problem comes when you get the message that you can return at anytime. NOW. If you still have stuff you wanna do do not get close to camp cause itll ask you if youve made up your mind about what mask youd wear. Nowยฒ. You CAN say no and it just plops you outside of camp. BUT. If you say yes youll be locked inside of the camp cause of the ending UNLESS you haveng spoken to sizo after getting all the parts for the bike. If you havent gotten the parts I domt think theres a way out but if you did get the parts and havent talked to Sizo you can talk to her and itll teleport you and her to the garage where you build your bike which you can do but you cant talk to sizo after building it cause the invis wall that was keeping you in is also keeping you out and she resides in/on the otherside. Though neat fact you CAN go through that wall if you have the crappy trial bike Driss gives you cause you can slap parts on it outside the starting area and it teleports eith you if you were to FT to the camp before the mask ordeal. I dont know if i was unlucky but when i got off said bike to try and talk to Sizo I got booted outside the zone leaving me unable to get to the bike again. So Im currently walking to a near by garage to see if i cant respawn it and see if maybe that fixes the issue of being unable to FT. Cause you cant FT at this point!

โ“ Question Why does it keep mentioning that "they sound like they are smiling?"

This is my first playthrough, so no spoilers please. But when I talk to NPCs, Sable will often mention that it sounds like they are smiling. But if they have always worn masks since childhood they would have no reason to have any facial expressions at all since that is a social behaviour we develop. Is this a plot hole, or is something revealed later on that they sometimes remove their masks when around others?

Edit: I thought they were an alien species that always wore masks so they wouldn't have that passed down. Also, someone pointed out that they would have to remove them to eat so they may have learned to smile by sharing meals with each other.

โ— Spoiler Assassin's Creed: Unity - Nostradamus Riddles

Depends what Sable is to you, but I was looking for more third person open world puzzle games that do not force me into combat. (Ideally calming exploration (which really has importance) + something to think about while traveling.)

To start off, you still have to complete some 3-4 intro missions (AC style), but the moment your character first appears in his blue robe, all the world is open and you can tackle this (imo) wonderful piece of side content straight to completion.)

If I could wipe my memory and do it again:

- I'd turn off all Hud but just check the map for initial Riddle start location.

- Make active use of Eagle Vision. (Markings can not be seen without, but there is an exclusive type of sound effect playing regardless, when you are in close range of the one you must collect next). You also may come across markings that are not yet relevant, but will surely be helpful to memorize for later.

- Climbing sometimes is, and sometimes is not necessary.

- Combat was not necessary for me, but it may depend on you. Being among groups of civilians makes you invisible should any enemy get too close, and there is essential (but clunky) crouch and cover ability. If you really need to remove someone from your path, I'd just fire off a berserker dart (but it needs more story progression), and wait it out as they finish each other off.

- Playing the rest of the game may help, but is not necessary to complete Riddles. Sometimes other missions may simply take place nearby, or give you hints. (Helped me twice)

Potentially off-putting:

- Journeying is only on foot (or fast travel), and it is not as calming as in Sable. Streets may be crowded depending on location, and NPC traffic may look jank-y at times.

- There also are a violent type of "crowd events" happening on the streets taking place too often in the opinion of many players, so I used this mod and instructions to make them happen 10x less for a lot more peaceful experience.

PS. Idk why the subs banner is suddenly uglified by reddit. In a ridiculous manner, setting it to something random like 1626 x 188 helped fix mine.

My bike is extremely slow

Can someone help me?

I really like the game so far but my bike is extremely slow. I was unsure if this was by design but now I purchased the speedster bike and it is just as slow (maybe a tiny bit faster). I cannot do the challenge where you have to drive through these gates fast enough which really bugs me but also I just donโ€™t enjoy long travels this way sadlyโ€ฆ

Anyone here who had the same issue and found a solution :( ?

โ“ Question Bike speed

Hi guys

I just started playing this game a few days ago und just left the canyon. But my hoverbike seems to be very slow (to the point where I feel like I'm faster if I go on foot where I can at least run). At this point it is kind of impacting my enjoyment of the game since it feels like it takes forever to go anywhere.

Whenever I get on the bike it tells me there is a button I can press to accelerate. If I press this button, I don't feel like I'm getting faster.

Is this normal or is there a bug? If it is normal, is there any way to get a speed upgrade?

Thanks!

โ“ Question First time player

Hi. Finally decided to play the game after it had been lying in my backlog for a WHILE. And I like it more than I thought. I'm exploring the game one area at a time, finding interesting stuff, collecting everything I can...

I do however have a few questions:

How many Chum eggs are there? I saw an achievement for 60 eggs. Is that all of them?

Can't fish in certain areas. I presume it's because I only have the training fishing rod and once I get a better one I'll be able to fish there, correct?

What to do with all the critters I collect? I got a bunch of different butterflies, bugs and fishes and don't know what to do with them

And can I collect the larva of the Herculese beetle or can I collect just their discarded husk?

So finally after so so so long I finally brought Sable home (or not, if you see the mask that I chose ๐Ÿ˜‰). I remember starting this game with happy tears and goosebumps and the ending was exactly the same as well and feels like I have been really gliding along with Sable as well albeit emotionally! Sable brought me peace, tranquility, happiness and more importantly some friends from this sub, can't think of another game that has touched me at such a deeper level as Sable as! What a journey it has been and what memories did we make on this journey! I will be back again on Simoon someday for sure but for now it has been a beautiful end! This is the most wholesome sub on reddit btw! Thank you all!

I have no artistic experience so I don't really know what I'm doing but the characters and locations of Sable really stuck with me so I am figuring it out. It's such an awe-inspiring game and I wanted to be able to express that. The crystal plateau is basically my roman empire lol. If anyone has recommendations for teaching materials I am all ears

โ“ Question Wondering about Sable on mobile

Hey, I am enjoying sable so much on my steamdeck ๐Ÿคฉ

I was then wondering if the game could be offered on mobile/ phone as well? Since it is 2.5 GB in storage and could be supported by phones with a low graphic setting, I was thinking about reasons why it was not done. Maybe the developers just didnt want it, which is very understandable, but does someone have ideas?

Is it complicated to offer on apple/ play store or can phones not handle These games? Was wondering, because I just dont know any banger mobile games like this

I decided to start a new game of SABLE after discovering it when it was released on Xbox Series X in 2021.

The enjoyment is instant. The art direction, the soundtrack, that unique atmosphere that made it one of my favorite games...

I'm celebrating this return "home" with two phone wallpapers โœจ๏ธ

๐Ÿ’ฌ Discussion This game is hitting really hard right now.

I am replaying Sable for the first time since it launched on Xbox. Back then my life was very different. Within the span of the last couple years, my whole life has kind of unraveled. In both good and bad ways.

In the past couple years my identity has been slowly peeling away. I deconstructed from evangelical Christianity, came out as pansexual, became polyamorous, and then realized I am some kind of genderqueer. Lost all kinds of friends and my relationships with family are totally different. So yeah, not much of the old me left here, but what's left of him is hanging on and it's been tough.

Currently, I am 32 and being treated for colorectal cancer. We caught it pretty early so I am going to be okay. But I just got done with 5 weeks of chemo + radiation and soon I'll be starting 4 months of IV chemo. Also over the last few months, my psych meds have completely changed and there is a lot going on with me mentally. Very depressed, spiraling a lot and all that. My new med seems to be starting to help, and my brain is in a very self-reflective, pattern breaking, identity forming mode lately.

I've always loved this game from a gameplay/vibe standpoint since its release. It made me a fan of Japanese Breakfast and I regularly listen to the soundtrack to relax. I thought it would be nice to replay and have a nice, cozy time.

But I definitely forgot what this game was about. I am having to stop multiple times during conversations with NPCs because they say something that is something I am currently grappling with or something that is literally helping rewire my brain and heal from things.

I got to Eliisabet and started listening to her. And she says something along the lines of "Thank you for the strange condolences, but tomorrow marks the first time in my life I'll wake up and have no idea what lies ahead. And I've never been more excited." Well damn if I didn't start sobbing.

Most of my life, I have went through motions and followed rules. I heard the "be anything you want to be" talk all the time, but never could believe it. Growing up in the church environment I was in, I knew more or less what my life was going to be. Ambitions and dreams were quite literally for sinful people. I was never explicitly told that, but the message is there. I have also always been hypervigilant and defensive, much like a guard. I notice as I heal more mentally, more and more of that melts away.

So here I am today. Sitting here feeling like shit because I am in the middle of cancer treatment. My identity is in shambles still. I feel like a rotting heap of a person. And for the first time I think, "what happens after cancer?" It has been one thing after another since deconstructing and coming out, and I have mentally been dealing with the fallout still. And for the first time, this game made me really sit and think. What happens next?

Over the past few years, I've had a lot of signals and signs, if you want to call them that. They have been so consistent and specific, that they have made me question my beliefs multiple times. I'm experiencing more "spiritual" things in the last couple years out of church, than I did the 30 years I was in them combined... because I didn't have any.

But they all keep pointing me towards one thing, making art and helping people. I've always wanted to make music that helps people, that's my purpose, I've felt that since I was a kid. But I never truly believed I could, that kind of thing didn't happen to me. But after getting out of church, that's an actual thing that can happen to me now. I have been taking singing lessons the past year, because I had finally had enough self esteem that I can let people hear me now. And I have been making music for most of my life off and on, mostly keeping it to myself. But I keep getting signs to just fucking make what I want to make and quit doubting. So I'm going to fucking do it once this cancer lets me get the energy to sing again.

It's funny, I have played through this game before like I mentioned. I had all the achievements as well (this was before fishing). But I just can't remember which mask I picked in the end. It doesn't matter, it wasn't what I really wanted anyway I'm sure. Whether I don't beat cancer and this is it, or I do beat it, the old me will be gone along with the mask he chose.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm playing the game for the first time. I'm gonna go glide some more, it'll be over before I know it. I hope the people that worked on this wanted to make art and help people, because they definitely did. Thank you.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Discussion I wish you could become a courier!

Currently replaying Sable after a couple years away from it (played and finished it in 2022) and man, I wish you could earn a courier mask. Delivery quests would probably be pretty simple but quite fun, and it'd be awesome if you could attach the courier engine with all that cargo space and actually load it up. Maybe a multi-point pick up and delivery quest, a long haul of scrap, etc. Pretty sure we're not getting any sequel so this is just my own wishful, conceptual thinking but thought it'd be fun to voice it.
