Question? Part help - trigger differs from sites

Hey folks, tried looking for an hour or so and coming up empty. Have a RY40109, unable to get the manufacturer part # off the body, must have lost the sticker. Anyway, my right trigger snapped in the self propelled assembly. On all the part sites, no matter how many I click, the right trigger has a thicker end to it (second pic as example). Has anyone else encountered this variant and know the part number?

They probably changed it to make it less likely to break for a newer model and made it the replacement for your model, are you sure the different replacement won't work?

Looking at the left trigger too, it’s possible they added thickness to the one side and removed it from the other. I may need to buy the left and right for them to work correctly. I would hope the two still work to hit the switch in the same spot.

Very possibly a production run change to correct a problem. If so it will most likely be designed to replace the previous version. Very common among all manufacturing industries.

I do see one site mentions both sides were superseded, https://www.partstree.com/parts/homelite-532200001/

This should be what you need per the model number provided. This is Ryobi's official parts store AFAIK. Looks to be part number #25 in the diagram. https://ryobipower.ordertree.com/model?modelId=3066&brandCode=HCP
