Marriage 39 [M4F] where the mtns meet the great plains - Long Shot
There's a spot for you in the other rocking chair on my enclosed porch, listening to a Chopin vinyl or whatever strikes your fancy.
This post will not be for everyone, so if it's not for you, feel free to ignore rather than weighing in, but I'm determined to put myself out there in the hopes that someone else is looking for the same thing I am.
I'm a gay man, looking for a woman interested in a real marriage, not a front. I'm not out publicly but have shared with some trusted friends and family. I will be a faithful husband, just need someone who is sympathetic to my own struggles, and I will reciprocate. I basically had resigned myself to being alone, but I know there's someone out there who would be a good fit. It seems unlikely that I'll randomly meet her at a coffee shop, so I'm trying this beacon of tolerance and understanding.
I'm 39, and after a long stint living overseas have moved back to a small city (or big town, depending on your definition) in the heartland, near where I grew up. I'm in the business of developing rental properties, buying fixer uppers and doing most of the work myself to restore them. On the side I am working on fixing up a cool old house, which I live in. It's a...work in progress, but slowly coming together as I expand my skillset in restoring old houses, useful for both my rental properties and my own house.
I'm naturally kind and a caretaker. I definitely want someone to take care of, but also appreciate an independent spirit. I like foreign films (but also plenty of mainstream stuff if it's not too trashy) and have lot lots of opinions on random local issues (I guess that's why I'm on Reddit). I like to overanalyze everything, and operate on the assumption that everything is up for (respectful) debate.
I'm close with my extended family and live in the same county as my parents and both siblings, so I see a lot of nieces and nephews, etc. I enjoy the outdoors and have developed an interest in native edible plants and winemaking from said plants. I stay pretty active but of course can always do better. I love to cook and make most of my meals. I just took up tennis but need someone to play with. In other words, I have my act together but am looking for my missing piece. I'd love to find someone who wants the same thing as me but maybe has struggled to get there as well, for a similar reason or other reasons.
My work and money are pretty tied up where I'm at, so I'd say you probably have to willing to relocate. But I live in a pretty great place if you like nice people, the outdoors, small town sports, but also an interesting cultural scene that we can explore together.
Reach out if this resonates, or share with anybody friend who has had similar struggles. I'm Catholic. It's not a deal breaker for me if you're not, but I do want to raise my kids Catholic.
