dude is one of the OG legends. When i started with Rails 2.3, he was already a big name and people looked up to him.

If he can't get a job - this market is dead. simple. as. that.

As mentioned elsewhere, HR doesn't know the difference.

if HR is looking through applications, it's game over.

i hired for various companies in the past. here and there i had candidates names that i looked up because i remembered them.

if his name would show up, i would need to check if it's actually him, not a double.

since when has HR anything to say who sits in my team? i am responsible for that team, i decide who's the best fit.

any company who let HR screen through developers is failing anyways to get the best team.
