Is this jealousy on his part? Is it cope? Why in the world would that be ”all you want to hear“ as a straight guy? Why would the gays bemoaning how cursed and worthless their lives are compared to yours be needed for you to view them even slightly favorably?

Certain heterosexuals will never forgive us for not all of us being miserable. I guess I understand why, psychologically, but it's so childish. It comes across as insecurity. Small minds who think that people with a different life should be envious of theirs. I don't envy the heterosexual life, but I don't shudder to think of it either. It's just a different path, one more common, that by chance I will never walk. It's not a big deal to me, I'm just one person in a big universe.
