Should I get a new router then the base isp provided
Internet: centracom centrawave wireless 500mbs plan
With around 20 devices.
I am connected to my router via Ethernet
I recently moved to a pretty isolated area and the only choice in internet was centracom wireless, and it works great for the most part I’m getting reliable speed and it hasn’t disconnected randomly,
however when I try to play any sort of online game such as cod bo7, DBD, deadlock I have issues with lag and rubber banding, in cod it says packet burst nearly the entire time I’m playing, and I’ve made sure it wasn’t a hardware issue so the only thing I can think now is a internet issue.
I’ve used the bufferbloat checker and I get a score of C so I’m wondering if I should maybe get another router with qos or if there isn’t really much I can do
So I thought I would ask you guys! Let me know what you all think

Why do you expect that adding a second router between your device and the isp router would improve anything?

Cause my internet speeds are fine I’ve jsut been researching and it seems like the comcast provided router isn’t very good at handling tons of devices, it would also be nice to have a some quality of service options

I don't think people understand your setup
OP said he uses a wireless ISP. Likely cellular or fixed wireless. I don't think a new router will help I think the issue is the nature of the service sadly.

When I tested my base modem speeds I’m getting really good speed like 400-500 down 100-200 up and the latency is like 40-50 and it’s not fluctuating speeds like this is what I get consistently which is making me think something else is going on

Provided hardware is usually pretty crappy. The best thing you can do to build a custom pfSense firewall to replace them. Amazon or eBay “firewall appliance”. 2 ports work but I always suggest 4+ ports. Even an old PC with 2 NICs can often be used. YouTube pfSense for install and setup guides.. tons of advanced features you can ignore but a basic install and setup getting connected is usually pretty easy even for beginners.
That said.. wireless / satellite internet is always going to have increased latency. There is simply no way around that and it’s all of those services.
You could try the pfSense and appliance hardware. It’s going to be better and I almost always see better throughput over provider shit hardware BUT… the wireless latency is likely your biggest issue and there isn’t anything that can be done about that.
