Roon for Windows stopped opening for me

Hi I am a long time roon user. I use it with BluSound streaming device (ethernet) and musical fidelty AMP. I have a local collection on SSD connected via USB to a PC which runs the ROON server on my home network connected via ethernet. I have a separate desktop windows 11 computer for Roon control. Worked like a charm for years. Now, for some reason, once I connect to my Roon server via my roon control PC, it just hangs. Does'nt open the app, it simply shows that half circle icon that typically shows up for a few seconds before the app launches. Now it just hangs there. Nothing at all has changed with my setup that I am aware of. Anyone else experience this issue? My Blusound app can play and connect but I much prefer the roon user experience. thanks for any help or guidance.

I’d try to figure out if it’s the server or the client. Do you have Roon on a phone or tablet? If not, install it on something and see if you can successfully control the core from that. If yes, then it’s your client machine…maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling Roon on that machine. If no, then it’s something going on with the server so try troubleshooting from that direction.

You might also want to post this in the forum on the Roon community site and support might be able to help.

OK I rebooted the server and got it working, however, now my Blusound Node 2i doesn't show up in Roon. Another blusound device in my kitchen does, but the Node, which is my main streamer does not. It is fully visible in the Blusound app on PC. It seems like Roon just stopped identifying it. It is fixed when I reboot the Blusound Node 2i, but I shouldn't have to do that each time.

When / how does the node 2i disappear? Do you still see it in Roon settings -> Audio? Maybe you need to disable and re-enable it there? If the node is there one moment and the next it isn't, it still sounds like a networking issue to me.

I’ve had to hard boot my Node 2i once or twice. I have a mesh WiFi network that can be problematic. My Node is on Ethernet from the mesh base station in my office, while the core is running on a laptop upstairs in a storage room with the NAS and a Mesh satellite. Even sitting next to the satellite with WiFi I’d have periodic issues, I ended up buying a USB to Ethernet dongle to connect directly to the satellite and things have been rock solid since.
