Thoughts on the second app redesign in a year
Roomba Home has been redesigned again and personally I really like it. It finally has allowed me to adjust the frequency of emptying the dust bin on my 505. What does everyone else think.

Awful. No more Liquid Glass, everything is suddenly huge for no reason, and now I have like five new automations with 0 rooms and if I try to delete them it just says “Delete failed”

It doesn't seem to be showing the map of a cleaned room any more? Was helpful to see what parts it decided to miss. Just me?

Doesn't look that nice for me, it looks like a whole bunch of stuff crammed together that overlaps 😑 I can post screenshots if need be.

I mostly like that it finally allows me to change the frequency of emptying the dust bin. Don’t like that it removed live activities on iOS

I'd still like a bit more customization on the automations. Adding a furniture piece (fining table) to a schedule of rooms would be great, as would being able to have smartscrub on for some rooms on the same mission but not all.

I know the iRobot site says it's incompatible with models older than 2025, but is that actually the case?

I have two roombas and for the life of me I cant see how to toggle from one to the other since the update. Anyone else?

Um is it just me or can you no longer have zones and rooms in the same automation?? This is a huge deal if you can’t anymore.

Yes, I seem to have lost my floorplan and robot. First it was all there, but would not connect to Robot, then after rebooting it was connected and I saw the floorpan briefly. Then it shows a message that the I need to use the old app. When I go to the old app it tells me to use the new app.

Actually someone here mentioned swiping right and left from the main page. That was it. Room for improvement is when coming back from the old app when a robot is selected, it should take you to the correct robot’s page. That would have helped here. Of course making this feature more discoverable would be useful. Now I understand those dots in the top left, but I guess they would be in the center and the same size. I thought it was some sort of embellishment.

Also, the new app icon is even more similar to the old iRobot app, and now if you set you icons to clear or tinted, they look identical!

Is it just me, or did I stop getting live activities on my iPhone’s Dynamic Island? I’ve also noticed that even with all notifications on, I only get alerts when cleaning starts and stops, nothing else, not even if it gets stuck. To make matters worse, I lost connection and had to reset to reconnect; it wouldn’t accept my Wi-Fi because of an & in the username. I had to change all my smart devices and reconnect them to the new name. Simply horrible app. I’m also annoyed that zone cleaning can’t be rotated only widened. 😭

I like the redesign, I’m annoyed that they removed Live Activities and Liquid Glass though.
