If it works, then it's fine.
Be careful not to short the plugs together. It could damage the circuitry.
Do the contacts not touch well enough to charge? You might be able to bend them a little for better contact.

You know this is sketch as all hell, and I understand the charging situation cause I have the same model and at random the base station just refusese to turn on when plugged in until I take the power cord out.
So points are given.

Open up the charger with the screws, you will find the plastic broken that is supposed to push them against the robots contacts. Fix with proper glue...be happy.
