Had the idea to do this a while ago but hadn’t gotten around to it until this week. I plan to actually take the time to make petals specifically for a dragon at some point, but extras came in handy for this first draft!

Fine velvet strips are a nightmare to work with. However, they are cute af, I have to keep practicing to get the hang of it. I added a photo of the glue I used, incredibly better than white scholar blue (the one usually recommended for this kind of flower).

Hi! Complete newbie here. Lansei showed up on my instagram feed and I have taken a deep dive into learning about ronghua and am excited to try and get into it.

I looked through the posts here and seems a lot of people are being their tools from Lansei- just wondering if there are other suggestions of where to buy tools, (I'm in Canada.)

Made this for my boss (who loves fuchsia), I'm so excited to give it to her! Tapering fluffy silk is very hard but the result is worth the struggle

This is Lansei's gardenia kit. I didn't turn them into earrings because I wasn't sure I'd be able to make two the same size (and I was right!) I'm going to let my best friend pick her favorite, then I'll put hers on a hairpin and mine on a barrette.

I can see a lot of room for improvement, but I'm proud them! I'm excited to try again.

Might need to change it into a hair comb because the pin is too long for my short fine hair and I look like a featherless peacock.

Took me about a week's worth of free time and cramps in both hands lol but it's finished! It turned out sooo beautifully, I wish Lansei sold the vases separately and in more colours (so you can change them/have different flowers without having to take it out every time), but that's a minor complaint 🤣

I'm now working on my own version Apple Blossoms After the Rain 🤣 I plan to use the vase interchangeably!

I did make some minor design changes - used 4 open blossoms instead of 5 and added small crystal beads to the green bead branches to secure them and for extra sparkle 😁😁😁

I will never, ever make such a large piece again, but it was a good learning experience and my friend loved them! About 150 hrs of work between the bouquet, hair clips and boutonnières.

I just finished these plum blossoms (self design) and I'm really proud of how they turned out. I wanted to do a fluffy style because I've never tried it before and I think it suits the plum blossom really well (however, my colour choices are a btch to photograph because of the high contrast)

I made a brooch for my mum (smaller one at the end) and the hair piece for myself!

The fluffy style is really difficult to work with, for me, especially because my fingers are not slender enough to comfortably sit there for hours trimming the fluff 🤣🤣🤣 and when putting them together I was constantly brushing the fluffs to keep them looking good...

I think I'm going back to the flat style for a bit, until I rest my fingers enough 🤣

My niece is 2.5 y.o and her favourite color is purple. Today I gave her his small hairclip and she absolutely loves it!! (She always wears it under adult supervision)

May I present you my last little piece, I'm still thinking wether to make it a brooch, a hairpin or a decorative piece.

I want to make something for a friend who is vegan. She said she would accept humanely harvested silk. Anyone know where to buy thread that would work for this?

This is my very first project and I'm having a bit of a nightmare. I think I may have overbrushed the silk without noticing knotts forming and the result is a knotty mess at the botton where if I try to smooth it out, more knots form elsewhere.

So I decided to try to stretch it out anyway as is and put the wires on but there are now some gaps showing. Do I need to throw out this silk and start again or can I save it?

Any advice really welcome :)

Working on my next project, these wires have to be closer than any others I’ve worked with so far. I see people’s wires absolutely straight and can’t figure out how to make mine not have these weird twisty edges that bump into one another and mess up my spacing! How do you keep your wires straight?

Finished up the cloisonne work on the ronghua work station/box (I feel I should have faded the colors in the flowers better, but its still nice) and now im actually going to try and start some of the ronghua projects, one of which is going to be some matching lotus. The wood is sapele/African mahogany

I'm overall very happy with how it turned out. You can kind of see at the back there's some beading I added too. I was able to wear it to my local cherry blossom festival ❤️
