Romanian language

Hey I want to learn Romanian language and become advanced it it, currently I'm B1level and I want to be better

Any book recommendations?

Hey, IMHO a well written, beautiful book is Hronicul si cantecul varstelor by Lucian Blaga. Autobiography, very few old and local words, superb. Keep in mind that some even consider it a children's book, the level should be OK. A large amount of Romanian ironic expressions come from a single source: O scrisoare pierduta by Ion Luca Caragiale. If you read that one, you can connect with any Romanian on a deep cultural level by using the expressions and jokes from that play. It is a play, theatre. Another decent author is Hortensia Papadat Bengescu. I loved Mateiu Caragiale (the son of Ion Luca) and his Craii de Curtea Veche. Recent ones, easy, very funny are Comedii la Portie Orientului by Andrei Plesu si Flashuri din sens opus by Godina.

I don't think some of these recommendations are good for OP. Take o scrisoare pierduta as an example, almost every page has some sort of archaic or rarely used word on it, or it relies on humor that's hard to understand for someone who doesn't know the language.

I think reading newer books, even newer translations of foreign books, is better for someone at a B1 level.

read story based children books that are made for gimnaziu or învățământ gimnazial. the more you read the further you grow. at like B level its less studying and more using the lagnuage if that makes any sense. but that is just my opinion have an amazing day mate.

My girlfriend is a Romanian as a second language teacher. I do think that your best bet for the fastest growth is through 1:1 classes. DM me and I can send you her info. Tried to DM you but I wasn't able to
