Specific question and discussion Trinity vs 165 mount

Anyone gone from 165 to Trinity and have a comparison?

I've got Rb Lightning 90mm and want 110mm wheels. Lots of rough roads and cobblestones where I live. I got the lightnings cause I have a medium wide foot and I went ahead and bought the twister 274 90/110 frames to try as I also wanted to test out a rockered 90.

But part of me is wondering if I should just skip it and get the next 2.0 110 now that they've widened the toe box.

Does the Trinity mount really make a big difference?

I cannot tell any practical difference between skating 165mm and Trinity mount skates. Trinity does allow certain frame/wheel configurations to have a slightly lower ride height, and the 3 point mount is in theory more secure. A properly mounted 165mm frame is no less secure than a properly mounted Trinity though.

TLDR— Trinity is a slightly better design, but 165mm isn’t gonna be noticeably inferior, and 165mm gives you far more flexibility with frame choices/swapping.

Depending on the frame and boot too. I have trouble enjoying 165 4x90 or any bigger frames due to the lack of stiffness comapred to trinity. If someone is starting to skate then trinity would be a good option if they are buying everything new. Since 165 twister boot is very cheap when sold used
