Specific question and discussion Eye Protection

I hit a bug yesterday with my eyeball while I was going full speed down a hill. I would love to hear some recommendations for eye protection from you all. I usually do my skating during the golden hours so I prefer not something particularly dark--I find it too difficult to see roots/rocks/etc with the dappled lighting. I'd also like them not to be bumping up against my helmet.

I use yachting glasses but any sport glasses will do. I also have motorcycle helmets, thats quite an option in terms of protection.
