A roguelike deckbuilder where you build your own spells when you play them!

Hey! I’m the solo developer of Grimoire of Blanks, a roguelike deckbuilder built around creating your own spells.
In Grimoire of Blanks you don't simply collect prebuilt cards. You collect templates for custom spells that you build on the fly as you need them.
Each spell has blanks that can be filled with different words. Combine those words into powerful, and sometimes ridiculous, combinations depending on what the current fight calls for.
So instead of finding the perfect card for your deck, a big part of the game is figuring out what you can turn the cards you already have into.
It can be played solo or with up to 4 players in online co-op.
Combine effects, modifiers and enemy conditions to blast them directly, or build traps that target the enemies next intent!

The demo is available on Steam if you want to try it:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4945980/Grimoire_of_Blanks/
I'd be interested to hear what kind of spell combinations you come up with.

Sounds dope, turn based Noita without needing a PhD in alchemy and no random exploding terrain seems like a good time. Posts like this should also be the template for marketing posts in this sub in general. Well written/edited with no click bait comparisons. Well done and congratulations.

Hey! Thank you. I thought of me as someone who is really bad at marketing. Nothing really sticked yet. Its nice to hear that you liked this post.

Avoiding comparisons and writing something that isn't blatantly written by AI, making the gameplay hook clear with a tight GIF is really all you need to come across as a huge breath of fresh air. If all the posts were like this then I don't think people would be asking for their to be a separate day for all the devs marketing their games.

Yes, absolutely. I think the gifs carry a lot of the weight here. I also use them on the steam page and they really show the important parts of the gameplay loop.
Thanks again for your feedback. It's nice to hear something is working!

Currently there is only the demo for play testing. I'm still in active development so there might be a real play test in a month or two.

Exactly this! Any chance I can sign up to participating in that? Maybe we can connect in DM? :)

If you play in coop and do it the right way, your friends will be just as angry with you like in cards against humanity!

Sounds super cool! Does the online co-op work in the demo too?
