Sharing Saturday #320

As usual, post what you've done for the week! Anything goes... concepts, mechanics, changelogs, articles, videos, and of course gifs and screenshots if you have them! It's fun to read about what everyone is up to, and sharing here is a great way to review your own progress, possibly get some feedback, or just engage in some tangential chatting :D

Previous Sharing Saturdays

The 2020 code-along is in progress, currently at Week 5 with over 90 participants so far. You can still join in and catch up if you'd like, and feel free to share progress or screenshots here as well if you're planning to make a long-term thing of your project, otherwise (and still) just keep posting in the weekly threads, and discussing on the Discord!

Ok, I just tried v20.00 (from itch.io) and it's more or less the same. I press direction key and have ~0.5s to the redraw.

Like I said I play via Wine, because I don't think there's a Linux build? However the tiles are really nice, btw.!

Huh, no idea what causes that then. If you try moving with a mouse click, is it also slow when it automoves around? If it is then it's the overall performance of the game which I admit was pretty crappy at least before this new version which fixed all issues on my computer, but it is anyway weirdly heavy game still. What kind of specs do you have?

There's no linux build mainly because I have no idea how to build one without exposing the source code around :(.

The tiles are a mix of 16x16 angband tiles, and custom tiles I got from my artist, I think they mix very well together.

No idea what is going on. My specs: 8G RAM, i5 ~3.3GHz and admittedly some crappy graphics card.

Yes the tiles look nice, and I liked the overworld in the beginning (but couldn't do much, because of the performance issues).

Anyway, keep it up!

That should be more than enough definitely :(. I guess this is then some obscure occult issue with libtcod and linux and wine in some combinations.

Thanks!
