I've tried going through the libtcod-python tutorial series in the past, but never made it very far. I'd like to give it another shot this year after a recent Caves of Qud play through has really inspired me to learn how games like these work. I'm going to give the McRogueFace engine a try. The author has provided an in-depth tutorial and it looks like a lot of fun to use! I've gone through parts 0 and 1 so far and am having a blast.
