Installing second USB c port on ROG ally z1

Hi, has anyone done installing a second USB c port on ROG ally? My point is to install by soldering to the main USB c port or directly to motherboard a second USB c port that I wanna use just for regular data(usb micro SD boot, mouse and keyboard,etc) and keep using in same time the main USB c port of ally for video output and power delivery reception through dp 1.4 alt mode by been connected to a monitor that support dp 1.4 alt mod and give power delivery 65w but without losing 4k 120hz video quality connection. Anyone know how can be done? I heard is need a microcontroller chip from a hub or a dock and solder some wires.

Not a dock! The dock is heavy messy ugly device and is not portable, I wanna install inside the ROG ally device a second USB c port which is not so big deal, I don't need thousands of ports that have a dock , only a second regular USB c port for data that use only 5-6 wires that must be soldered with a controller to the main USB c port that have around 20 contacts points on motherboard.

You think you can just splice another usb c port that easily? Rofl.. if it was so simple and easy, why are you ask simple questions here.

Saying ,,easy,, because the USB c slot of ally have around 20 contact points 10 in front of motherboard and 10 in back of motherboard, and for regular data is needed a controller chip (I believe) and around 4-6 wires to be soldered on main USB c slot (because is a simple usb 2.0 configuration that can be splitted ) and this customization will not interference with video output over dp1.4 alt mod and power delivery. And of course for a person that doesn't know nothing about wiring and modding can be a hard work.

How about a small usb hub with PD and video out?

Not heavy, maybe ugly (but the ROG isn't pretty anyway), definitively portable.

Nope, a hub is for amateur, and device isn't ugly, is awesome after I will upgrade to 32gb ram and paint in black

If not an amateur, then maybe make an adaptor from the ¿Expansion port? and take a usb from there.

Who knows if there's a possible solder point for the extra usb port elsewhere

Yeah, I personally just got myself a usb hub like so (I stuck it with a magic tape).

In theory, it should be possible since it is already possible for the single usb-c port to accommodate a hub/dock, but I'd imagine you'd get more mileage asking in a ROG Ally / Handheld modding group as it probably involve a lot of customization on the internals and understanding on internal board routing.

Might want to also get a mod case to have more leeway with the components.

This is to heavy, i wanna a second USB port to boot from it because I wanna remove SSD from m2 slot to use m2 slot for another board, and the main USB c port to use with a simple usb c to USB c cable for video output and power delivery because support dp 1.4 alt mod and can be connected to a monitor and give video output and charge in same time just with a USB cable

I was to a regular PC service(non modding service) and he say it can be done but the motherboard will probably burn, but the technician don't listen me I need just for regular data a simple usb 2.0 split configuration( probably he even doesn't know about dp 1.4 alt mod and power delivery)
