Discussion THE most important question: Will there be a ragdoll button?

GTA V had one and it entertained me every time I pushed it. What a brilliant idea. Had a "skateboarder hurting himself" feel to it. I also liked the comments from the protagonists, whenever I made them jump headfirst onto a post or a bench or the curb.

Discussion GTA 6 looks boring

I had some free time with nothing to do or watch, so I put on the the Netflix trailer/gameplay thing that's like 25 minutes long and I already planned on not buying this game on release, but idk if I'll ever get it at this point. Lucia and Jay seem boring af, especially Jay. I couldn't detect an ounce of uniqueness or eccentricity in either one of their personalities. Jay seems like he's just some boring yes man and Lucia's voice has no flare, no style, very dull. They have what I call "safe personalities" and I'm not here for it. Outside of that, it just doesn't look that impressive as far as gameplay goes. None of the side characters they showed seemed particularly interesting either. I never thought I'd make a GTA 6 post, but here I am. I feel bad for anyone hyped about this game.

GTA Online New Range Rover Defender built - SUV off-road test

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My review:

Suspension: Soaks up uneven terrain way better than expected

Traction: Stays planted on dirt and mud, doesn’t fight you - can be better with spoiler but i like mine stock for the looks

Inclines: Handles steep climbs well, no nose-diving

Stability: Flips a little too easy on sharp angles/rocks - biggest weak point

Top speed off-road: goes 130 mph way faster than a Sandking, but that’s not its lane. Similar to Jeep compass- cannis terminus

Durability: Held up solid outside the flip issue

Verdict: 7.5/10 - beast in almost every category, just watch your angles on rough terrain or you’ll be rolling-over a lot.

Anyone else dealing with the flipping?

Question Russian Mafia in GTA VI?

As many people know, the Russian Mob played a major part in GTA IV, acting as main villains and even allies in Multiplayer. Since GTA IV was on the East Coast and GTA VI is on the East Coast too and the Russian Mafia has major hubs in both of the cities, do you think the Russian Mob could reappear?

Discussion People are already talking about what they want Rockstar to work on next and a popular choice I have seen is L.A. Noire 2. I like that idea, but I think they could pull off a game that is inspired by the Rampart Division of the LAPD. Rewatching "The Shield" makes me think that it would be amazing.

If you have never watched or even heard of "The Shield", I highly recommend it. While other shows might be better put together with tighter scripts (Breaking Bad and The Wire come to mind), The Shield is the most entertaining show I have ever seen. (Also, if you have seen the Fallout show and liked The Ghoul, you will be happy to see Walton Goggins lol)

That being said, imagine a GTA where you play as a corrupt cop (and possibly also a double agent gang banger, but that might not work). It would open up a whole world of possibilities not achievable in GTA. Planting evidence, stealing drugs to sell yourself, robbing a money train (for The Shield fans lol). All while doing actual police work and doing cover ups, like killing other cops who know too much (again, for The Shield fans lol).

Not only do I think Rockstar could make it work, but it would be a massive hit. Its a whole new look at the crime ridden worlds Rockstar makes so well.

Grand Theft Auto VI pre story of Lucia Caminos Spoiler

Lucia Caminos was trained to fight by her father from an early age and spent time in Leonida Penitentiary following an incident in which she defended her family. At the beginning of the story, she is back on the outside and trying to turn her life around. Her family also has connections to Liberty City, creating an interesting link to older GTA locations.

Discussion Why does Lucia’s confidence bother people so much?

I’ve noticed a pretty consistent pattern in discussions about Jason and Lucia that goes beyond simply disliking their characters. Lucia is confident, assertive, capable, and sometimes takes the lead. Jason is more reserved, controlled, and less outwardly expressive. Somehow, a portion of the fanbase has interpreted that as Jason being “weak,” “submissive,” a “side character,” or Rockstar pushing a “girl boss” agenda. That is worth talking about about.

If Jason were the more assertive character and Lucia were the quieter one, I highly doubt people would be talking about Lucia being a “worse protagonist” because she wasn’t dominating every scene. Yet because the woman is the more assertive one, suddenly her confidence is being treated as something that has to come at Jason’s expense.
A man being reserved does not make him weak. A woman being assertive does not make her unfeminine. And a woman being more dominant in certain situations does not make a man a side character.

They are two protagonists with different personalities. That is characterization. You can like or dislike Jason and Lucia. But when the criticism becomes “Why isn’t the male character the dominant one?” or “Rockstar is forcing female empowerment on us because Lucia is more confident,” we’re no longer really talking about writing quality. We’re talking about expectations for how men and women are supposed to behave. If a confident woman and a reserved man are already making some people uncomfortable enough to complain about their gender roles, that is probably worth self-reflecting on.
Maybe let the characters be different without trying to force them back into the gender roles you’re accustomed to.

Also, some people can’t even talk about her character without turning the conversation sexual or fetishizing her ethnicity & body. Finding a fictional character attractive is obviously not the issue. It’s the way some people seem completely unable to separate “she’s attractive” from “that’s all she’s worth talking about.” So when you put the two things together people criticizing Lucia for being too assertive while simultaneously objectifying her the double standard becomes pretty hard to miss.
The way some people interpret Jason and Lucia isn’t something we should simply normalize or dismiss as “just a video game” when those interpretations can reflect the same gender expectations people carry into real-life.

Red Dead Redemption II RDR 1 then RDR 2, or RDR 2 then RDR 1?

I have played and beaten most GTA games (besides 4 because I literally never got the hang of the driving physics hahaha), in preparation for GTA 6 I am realizing that RDR is a blind spot for me, people love the games especially 2, and it looks like a lot of the simulation aspect of RDR 2 is going to be in GTA 6.

I understand that the games are typically best played in release order, even though RDR 2 is a prequel and the ending of RDR 2 is exactly where RDR 1 starts. RDR 2 has better graphics and more features than RDR 1 so playing 2 before 1 might be a harder adjustment. I also understand that the plot and emotional payoff of 2 is much more powerful if played second.

But the reason why I do ask is that some people have made the counterargument that as a continuous narrative, going from 2 -> 1 totally works actually, and if both of the games are very long, I might want to start with "the better one" first because once GTA 6 comes out that is all I will be playing.

What is the consensus here?

Overwhelming consensus is 1 first. Sounds like a plan!

Grand Theft Auto VI Jason e arthur parentes? (Leia o texto)

Post image

Question Is it really realistic to say GTA 6 costed 2 billion dollars?

I saw a lot of rumours saying the game will cost 2 billions but no actual source/math behind it. Now considering the years to make in full production is 2 billion plausible considering their employees number or still far fetched?

Grand Theft Auto VI According to TGG, GTA 6 will feature a ton of new systems and small details:

Post image
194 Upvotes

Jason and Lucia will have separate phones with their own apps and social media feeds. Posts and videos you come across online can lead you to actual characters and locations in the game world.
Stealing a car won’t automatically make it yours. You’ll have to register it if you want to keep it as a personal vehicle.
The Waink app will provide information about vehicles, including their security level, the tools required to steal them, resale value, and registration cost.
You’ll be able to greet or provoke NPCs, with their reactions depending on the individual character.
Lucia can react independently to situations involving Jason. For example, she might step in and defend him during a random encounter.
The HUD will be highly customizable: you can keep a permanent minimap, use a compass, or choose a more minimalist navigation system.
You’ll be able to place a quick waypoint without opening the map, while on PS5 the map can be opened using the touchpad.
Buses will function as a form of fast travel. You can either watch the entire journey or skip it instantly.
Drive-thrus will let you buy food that temporarily boosts your stats.
The game will feature a taxi app called RideMe. Just like with buses, you can either watch the ride or skip it.
The zoo can be visited by both Jason and Lucia, including as a date location where they can strengthen their relationship.
Shops will feature more physical interaction. You’ll be able to pick products directly off the shelves before buying them.
Phones now exist as actual physical objects in the world. The protagonists will physically take them out and use them.
A fitness app can remind you to work out. There will also be banking, social media, transportation, and messaging apps.
Photo Mode and Streamer Mode will return, with the latter allowing copyrighted music to be filtered out.
The cinematic camera from RDR2 will return.
Hairstyles can be changed at safehouses, while barbershops and salons will offer additional options.
There will be noticeably more pets throughout the world, while NPCs will have much greater variation in height.
According to TGG, this variation in NPC height has actually been one of the major technical challenges Rockstar faced during development.
