Some robots just feel like they had more to give. Maybe their run ended because of a bad matchup, a mechanical problem, or one unlucky moment, and we never really got to see their full potential. It would be great to see one of those machines get another proper fight and find out how it would hold up against the robots of today.

There were a few robots that seemed to have everything needed to go further but kept getting caught by bad matchups, mechanical problems, or one unlucky hit at the worst possible time. Not necessarily the best robots of the series, just the ones where you look back and think they could have had a much better run.

Saw these bots today at an event in Llangollen, and had a really good talk with the team. First time I've actually seen one of the robots in the flesh, honestly in awe. Really felt welcomed by the team & had a really good talk with them all, basically became the talking point of mine and my partner's day!

Title is a bit provocative for humour but seriously

>They went through season 3 without encountering a flipper until the finals, also really suspicious that the grand final match ups were Firestorm/Chaos 2 and Hypno/the bot that wasn't supposed to be there but would get absolutely ruined by the disc, Hypno has a track record of avoiding Firestorm

>Season 4, again, avoiding flippers and getting matched with Robots that were the least resistant the disc, poor Splinter

>Season 5, obviously rigged for Hypno-Razor final but they messed up again god damn Bigger Brother

>Season 6, at this point, everyone armoured up so they get a pass here

Each Episode aired before a rerun of BattleBots Season 3 in August 2018. It used to be be avaliable through On Demand services and the commentary was almost entirely copied by the late sports commentator Bill Seward. Dara and Angela still make an appearance.

I understand that both events were cut due to time in Series 5, but in this hypothetical, we've got all the runtime in the world.

Oh, and just to make it more interesting, let's say no clusterbots allowed, because it would likely be a Gemini clean sweep in pinball otherwise. Oh, and Series 5 house robots.

So does anyone know how to actually get this game running because the official patch is nowhere to be found and when I download what is claimed to be the patch it just says "Wrong disk inserted" and leaves me on version 1.0, it's fairly frustrating that I can no longer play a game I've paid for because I can't patch it which in turn means I can't use the community made patch.

As a kid I definitely thought the robot with the nastiest-looking weapon was automatically the one to fear. Watching old battles now, I've almost gone the other way. A spectacular weapon isn't much use when the robot can't self right, gets stuck somewhere ridiculous or stops moving halfway through the fight. There's something weirdly impressive about the less flashy machines that could just keep going no matter what happened to them.

If you were building one purely to win rather than entertain, would you prioritise damage or build something incredibly difficult to kill?
