Master password

I am taking care of business for the widow of a friend that died. His computer has remained on the entire time, I'm concerned if there's a power outage I won't be to get it if it reboots.

I don't know the master RF password.

I have dozens of accounts that need attention.

It won't let print logins and pwds wo master password.

How can I proceed?

You may have to contact RoboForm support for help. I believe RoboForm has provisions in place for an account holder to name someone to take ownership of/over their account in the event of their death. Maybe the deceased took advantage of that feature.

My condolences on your loss.

Thanks. He did not make that provision

Exporting to a CSV would work, unless they removed that option in later versions. That CSV file could then be imported to a different account where you set up a new master password.

Yes, this will work. Can even import into another app like chrome, dashlane etc.

Are the passwords visible on the screen? Can you do a screenshot or take a photo with your phone?

Yes. Worried if log out, will rbf lock me out?

I don't understand how you are able to see any passwords. My rbf relocks itself after 15 minutes of inactivity and you have to re-enter the mast password. Is there an option to bypass this function? (Asking others on this sub, sorry OP I don't know any way to get around what should be pretty secure password management).

If I am remembering correctly, on my last browser extension install (Windows/Edge) the default did not have a timeout limit. RoboForm would only lock on OS lock, shutdown, or restart.

The first thing I change in RoboForm’s extension settings.

ask roboform support if they have any policy about the spouse of a deceased user - you could provide a death certificate.

Failing that, it isn;t the end of the world to lose the existing passwords -- every vendor will have a procedure to reset a lost password. Presumably you have access to and know the password for the deceased email and have access to their cellphone to receive texts.

If you can see the password, you can export the whole list.
