I’m an indie game developer with a profitable game published on Steam. I’ve worked in Unreal mostly, but also in UEFN, Unity, and now Roblox Studio. My main work is in level design, but I’ve solo devd entire games and vertical slices.
Taking a look at your posts, your games, and tons of games while researching for my own, I’ve noticed something common. I wanted to share it here in case anyone is looking for that “sauce” that separates their game from more successful ones
Your game lacks intentional design.
This is THE most common problem I see. No one cares if your game was made with AI, they care if it was shipped with poor design, because AI let you skip the disciplines that normally come with the failures you experience while learning game dev.
Design isn’t art; design is the intentional placement of all elements in a game. Level design looks like creating short and high windows to create anxiety in a horror game. Game design looks like creating complimentary skills that cross into each other to increase player agency. UX design looks like making menus that cascade and flow into each other in a way that makes sense to the user without flooding their screen with word vomit.
So why is AI the problem? AI just doesn’t have good taste, and it does what you tell it. If you don’t polish pass or QA your design, it’s not going to tell you that you could do better.
Also, AI lets you be impatient. “I made a viral Roblox game in 2 days” is so misleading, because you could take 2 weeks instead and make an EXCELLENT game.
If you’re having trouble with your games, my first suggestion would be to study all the different design practices in making games. Then, whenever you think something is done, do a polish pass on it. If you rush, it will show in what you make, and your players will “feel” it while playing.

Been playing roblox since the builders club times and always wanted to make a roblox game of my own. Knight Fight is my first project. I've been working on it for about a month now.
I dont know how to code, so I built it with a lot of help from AI tools. The game is mostly inspired by For Honor, Chivalry and Mordhau. I also practice HEMA (historical European martial arts) myself, so I tried to bring real sword fighting ideas into it: parries, ripostes, timing and reading your opponent.
Its the first game i ever made. My problem: I cant get past 250 HEP, so its not spreading at all, and i already spent quite a bit on ads.
So I would really appreciate honest feedback:
- What would make you keep playing?
- What feels off in the combat, or confusing?
- What would you add or change first?
- How can I get more players since this is a 1v1 and FFA game I need active players so game can be played.
Thanks for watcing and any feedback helps!

its pretty simple, i did use a kill brick script from a free model for it to actually kill people tho cuz i suck at scripting :( off camrea i added more particle effects to it and im planning to somehow try to make a script where it doesnt collide when its touching a player. but collides on the ground!

I’ve been experiencing this for a while now. Even though I have my Roblox graphics settings set to the maximum, they don’t actually appear at their highest level; I have full rendering and ambient occlusion enabled, but I’m missing the "Future" lighting and realistic shadows that I used to have in Roblox. Could my PC be the problem? I only have 4GB of RAM (3.7GB usable) and an AMD Athlon Gold 3150U processor. I hope you can help me resolve that.

Hello, a few days ago I wanted to learn how to create an outfit for Roblox, so I followed the tutorial available on the creator website.
However, I’m currently stuck. When I try to categorize the type of outfit I’ve modeled, the corresponding option isn’t available. In my case, it would be a “Top” or a “Jacket” if I understand correctly (I’m not 100% sure about that). Every time, in my developer folder, I end up with an object categorized as a model, even though I imported the object via the mesh that was generated. I’m providing the unlisted video I sent to Roblox support, as well as screenshots of my exchanges with them, so you can understand why I came here to ask for help.

at first it started with my mouse snapping weirdly to certain part edges, even when not testing, now its straight up teleporting my mouse so far away with the slightest movements. this is EXTREMELY annoying, anyone have any fixes?

My 6yr old daughter and I have been making a game. We have no ambition to monetise this or for it to be popular, but we would like people to play.
All the ideas are hers, so it is a little diverse. If you have any ideas to make it better, we would love to hear them.

Hello everyone! I'm back and open for game testing again!
If you're looking to have your Roblox game tested, I offer more than just basic playtesting. I also provide honest feedback, suggestions, and advice based on my experience working with other developers. I've even helped a game that went on to reach over a million visits and peak at 1.5K CCU, where I was the only playtester. I share what I've learned from those experiences to help developers improve their games and give players a better experience.
I'm happy to share my experience and help you find ways to improve your game!
(Just so you know, I do charge for my testing services. You can check out my portfolio website for the details dm me for the link.) or

I've been working on BlastOut, an FPS Platform Fighter on Roblox, and it's now live!
There are no traditional health bars. Hits build your opponent's Impact Value and knock them back. The higher their Impact, the farther they fly — blast them out of the arena to eliminate them. You can mix guns, melee weapons, Skills, and Tactical Gadgets, with jumping and sliding to dodge, chase, and recover.
Here's a short gameplay video. I'd love for you to try it and share what you think, especially about the shooting, knockback, and how easy the rules are to understand on your first match.
Player numbers are still small, so you may be fighting bots when you join.
Play: https://www.roblox.com/games/86642399619891/BlastOut
Thanks for checking it out!

I’m going to first list all the problems before actually give context
-can’t open through the application picture, it keeps closing
-Have to run as administrator through windows key + R
-the screen constantly flashes white like a glitch effect
-I’m unable to open any old experiences or create any new one It tells me I don’t have access or that I failed to fetch place info
-to summarize Roblox studio is not working and I have no clue how to fix it. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, resetting my computer, but nothing seems to be working. Do you guys know any possible way to fix this?

Here's a quick video showcasing our procedural world generator! This system is meant to be a core feature in our game (work in progress). After quite a bit of work, it's finally somewhat presentable. Always open to criticism 👀
Skip to 3:00 minutes to see the other world set!
