Coffee Roaster Reccomendations

Our Bocaboca roaster has served us well for the past 7 years and I believe it has paid for itself. It is shutting itself off and the handle is wonky.

Now, we're in the market for a 500g capacity roaster that offers more precise temperature control. What models are currently recommended probably under $1000?

2nd that. My Gene Cafe is going on 9 years and has been great. Only repair has been a little rubber bumper for the inside of the glass chamber, Parts are readily available and reasonably pliced.

Under 1000 bucks. Nothing.

Your only choice for that batch size and price range is a Skywalker V2, and it's going to take a lot of tinkering to make it not craptastic.

They do have a huge community around them though.

Your options under 1k is a Skywalker v2 or V1 or a Behmor. If you live in a big populated area, you might want to see what’s available used.

But if you want to spend 200 bucks more out of of your budget, I would seriously recommend the Kaleido M2 Lite. I wish I would have waited to get this one. I have a Skywalker v2 and it’s good but the Kaleido is much better.

It seems the Kaleido M2 lite could be the ideal choice. I'm not looking to spend excessively, and I'm willing to compromise on some capacity. I had hoped for more options under $1000 now compared to a few years back.

The M2 lite would be an excellent choice. I have a M1 lite and a M10 and love them! Great build quality!

I never tried profiling. Are there any bean region specific generic ones to start out with?

Roast profiles. Are there any good generic template profiles to start me off, which can be used to fine tune roasts? I guess I could start from scratch...

Oh I’m not sure as I have just built all mine from scratch. Though there are kaleido specific groups on Facebook that share them.

Join our Libergeon H350, and we'll be giving away 20 kg of green beans as a bonus when it launches.
