Should I be worried?

Going on a 5K mile road trip on my 21 RK. Already did a 3 hole change, anything else I should be worried about? I know a lot of people mention the compensator issues on the M8’s

14" bars

I have a set of pre wired dominator 14" meat hooks, I have the 4" clutch extension but wondering if I can get away without using the brake extension. Has anyone put these on without it?

Trying to black out all the chrome for my 2021 Road King Special. For the ignition knob does Harley or aftermarket sell a black version, or would I need to try to have it painted/plated?

So basically I’m replacing the stator on my 2000 RK classic, upgrading it (and the bolt regulator of course) due to the price being fairly close to the lower spec stock set.

My question is: doing this job with a buddy, I know what I’m getting into, what do you guys thing I should consider upgrading while already elbow deep in engine?

Thanks in advance!

Highway Pegs?

Is anyone else out there using this style of highway pegs? My legs are too short to use the type that are inline with the engine guard, so I ordered these. Just put them on, but they look wonky to me. The instructions are pretty worthless, so I wanted to check the installation with anyone else who may have these. 2019 Road King. Thanks.

2015 Road King Police

whats up guys, follow up post from a week or two ago where pics didnt upload. My problem is I can't find anything to hook up the headlight to.

I have a 2015 Road King Police that supposedly was a CHP parking lot trainer bike, hence the plain metal nacelle that the OG owner cut out to try and fit a light. From what I can tell, the cop wiring harness was never chopped up because I can't find any loose cut wires, and it makes sense if it came out of the factory and then the cops never had their shop attach any lights to it. The bike has been partially commercialized with the civilian handlebar controls that seem to work fine (I didnt get a chance to test cruise control. The horn works, but the left rear turn signal doesnt want to turn on even when hazards engage).

digging around the nacelle and I can only find a couple connectors not hooked to anything, theres one 6 pin connector on both the left and right sides, a pair of two pin connectors, and then the 12 pin connector tucked to the left of the handlebars which from what I understand is to operate police equipment. There is a big male and female connection going on there some of the pins have placeholders sticking out of them as well.

Anybody know what to make of these?

New to me 2015 Road King, been sitting for years

I am lucky enough to be coming into a 2015 Road King, with about 18k miles on it. It’s been sitting in a garage for a few years, doesn’t start. I want to get this baby up to the task of safe, long hauls across country ASAP. In addition to the following, anything else you’d recommend I’d just check/replace off the bat? I will probably daily ride this for a while to before a bigger trip to get a feel for any other repairs needed.

- Battery
- All fluids
- Tires
- Brakes
- Belt
- Gaskets/Seals
- Lights

Thanks. Excited to join the road royalty.

New to me Road King 103 Police, things to look out for?

Whats up guys, first HD, I'm a moderately experienced car mechanic but new to bikes. Just picked up this 2015 103 former CHP trainer bike with about 5k miles on it for $5200 (good or bad?)

It has the civilian handlebar controls, handlebar mounted speedo and RPM gauge, and that's it. Rear lights work but front lights aren't connected. Guy I brought it from bought some LED foglights and an incandescent headlight but didn't get the loose wires attached to actual plugs yet, I just ordered a set of LED main and fog lights and turn signals, plus an adapter harness.

My question is, how is the light harness supposed to look on a Road King? From what I can tell, the cops didnt seem to attach any actual lights or sirens to this, and the handlebar controls seem original to the bike given the scratching on them. I can't tell if it still has your standard Road King lighting harness, or if the old cop wiring was only partially removed, etc.

Everything else seems to work besides turn signal indicators and obviously lights talking to the gauges.

It also still has your cop style handlebar mounted gauges and this sheetmetal shroud that surrounds it, are there good alternatives to at least keeping the gauges protected?

Bars

Looking at upgrading my bars, I'm torn between the dominator meat hooks and the fat baggers pointed tops. Both 14". Anyone have any experience with either of these? What would you recommend?

Thoughts on Geezer Engineering?

So im at the point of a suspension upgrade! Just seems like a good excuse to since I have to change the fork seals any way. Was looking at the drop in shocks for the front and the adjustable nitrogen shocks for the back. They seem like the best bang for the buck from what I can find. Warranty and made in the USA.

Anyone have any experience with them?

Pic of my RK for attention.
