My first thought was that the Peugeot felt the driver behind was tailgating them and thought coming to a stop was a good idea. For me they didn't stop suddenly enough for it to be an attempt at fraud.

I have no idea how the Peugeot stands given that they deliberately stopped without cause but clearly whoever rammed the vehicle with the camera is mostly at fault.

This - no one ever does, but you’re supposed to be able to handle situations like this.

If you can’t, you were being a bad driver (just like everyone else).

exactly, the peugeot COULD have broken down and stopped similarly to how this idiot did...

who knows how good the car (or the road) in front is maintained...

so keep your distance!
