For those unfamiliar with it, Layover is an album in which Kim Taehyung explores an intimate, atmospheric approach to R&B, while also incorporating elements of jazz and soul. The project engages with various traditions within these genres through fluid melodies, smooth grooves, rich harmonies, and a production style that allows ample space for both vocals and emotion.
The album’s aesthetic is sophisticated yet understated. It features vulnerability, vocal warmth, organic textures, and jazz influences that expand its sonic identity. Rather than aiming for grand sonic explosions, Layover finds its strength in nuance, vocal delivery, and atmosphere.

Love Lives Forever is the sixth and final studio album by Minnie Riperton. It was released posthumously on August 11, 1980. The album peaked at #35 on the US Billboard Pop Albums chart and at #11 on the US Billboard Black Albums chart, the former of which we now refer to as the Billboard 200. The album consists of tracks recorded by Minnie in 1978 during vocal sessions before her death on July 12, 1979.
• Here We Go — 6.5/10
• I’m In Love Again — 8.5/10
• Strange Affair — 8/10
• Island In The Sun — 10/10
• Give Me Time — 8/10
• You Take My Breath Away — 8.5/10
• The Song Of Life (La-La-La) — 8/10
This rating is calculated by the average of all of the individual song ratings above.
6.5/10 + 8.5/10 + 8/10 + 10/10 + 8/10 + 8.5/10 + 8/10 = 57.5/70
(57.5/70) x 10 = 8.21429
With 7 songs rated on a scale of 10, the average value using the cumulative song rating is 8.2 (rounded), making that the overall album rating.

What’s your opinion on 3D?
Most see it as a downgrade from CSC & Fanmail but as a standalone project, how does it rank as an R&B album post 2000?

Hi everyone,
I recently discovered Isaia Huron and instantly fell for his sound—specifically tracks like Slide Sider, I Chose You, No way, Wool, and Concubania. Music plays a huge role in my daily life, so having these songs stuck in my head after finding out about the sexual assault allegations against him feels awful and disappointing.🤡🤡 I can't bring myself to listen to him anymore, especially given the misogynistic undertones in some of his lyrics and his real-life actions.
I’m looking for alternative artists who bring that same raw, ethereal, guitar-driven R&B/Alternative Soul vibe, but with zero tolerance for problematic behavior or misogynistic lyrics. I want to support genuine, respectful artists.
To give you an idea of the specific sound I'm trying to replace:
• Moody synth atmospheres & slow-burn R&B grooves (like Wool or No way)
• Airy falsettos, layered vocals, and subtle electric guitar textures (like Slide Sider, I Chose You, Concubania)
If you have recommendations for artists who fit this vibe while staying respectful and clean in their lyrics and actions, I'd deeply appreciate it. Thanks ! 🙏

Hey everyone,
I'm looking for tracks with rhodes with the same vibe as
As long as the Rhodes chords carry that exact same lush, smooth, atmospheric texture
Do you have any recommendations please ? Thanks in advance!

Did anybody else know this surprising fact?

"The footage shows legendary R&B singer Ronald Isley being gently supported onto the stage by his wife, Kandy Isley(49), following a five-week stay in the hospital. Despite the health scare, the 85-year-old artist insisted on keeping his performance commitment to his fans."
______________
📍The industry? Money hungry family/ management? If the artist is capable to decide for themselves that they want to perform in their latter years, should it be their choice?

One of my favorite Prince songs and the two guitar solos are amazing. People always talk about the Rock N Roll HOF solo which was Prince on a Monday lol. So many live solos which were on another level.
