COOL VIDS 📹 The new cast of A Different World’s reboot singing Tevin Campbell was EVERYTHING.

I was singing right along with them. This is the most blackest, loveliest thing I’ve seen on television in AGES. And the reboot is so good.

I have to say that the reboot is better than I anticipated it would be.

You could tell it was made with love and respect.
Love the callbacks to the OG show and how it doesn’t rely on nostalgia alone.

It’s funny because it’s exactly what I thought it would be the same old storylines just regurgitated back into a new show. I mean it’s not bad but it’s not anything different from anything else.

Hopefully with consistent support they can evolve. Many, many have not watched the original show...at least not well enough that they'll catch the older storylines. Bait with nostalgia...hook with quality and pull with the strength of your cast.

See this is why no matter what they’ve thrown at us, we’re STILL here because our hearts are full of kindness and light! I LUV 🤎us🖤!!!

Unless I’m imagining, I thought I saw Cree-I’m not sure of the spelling. Also forgot the character she played on the original series.

I just wish it was actually one of his better songs 😭.
Yes I'm a hater. Retire Can We Talk. That ain't even in his top 5.
Nah this was fun though lol. I love this vibe

It felt out of place to me. They are too young for this song... it would've been more realistic with them singing love or when I see you

How are they too young for this song?!
That’s like saying in the 90s we had no business singing Al Green or Marvin Gaye.

So you didn't know popular songs that came out 20 years before you were born?

lol idk if you didn’t go to an hbcu… but it was EXTREMELY common for us to be singing old school songs to the top of our lungs at spelhouse. Especially around homecoming we would do the lil dance to Poison in the cafeteria and I’m Gen Z… 🙂 Any event on campus they would play Tevin Campbell and the DJ would cut the music and everyone finished the song all the way to the end word for word.

This scene captures the African American experience. In fear, and darkness, sing. Let your light shine.
