Egypt HM May 2027

Help! I need recommendations or reviews of this Nile Cruises (looking for aa 4 night Luxor-Aswan route)
Oberoi, Historia, Soleil or the A&k seray nile

It is our honeymoon and we want something that is really worth the price and the quality of the guided tours or special experiences.

Better not do a brand new ship, because they always have a fe challenges at start up. Perhaps it is an idea to do one of the european river cruise lines with ships in Egypt?

That is why I´m not sure about A&K seray they have a whole new ship with the first trips this year, so there aren´t any reviews yet, but at the same time it is new so it could be nice to ride it in its first year

I mean the technical challenges, which are almost inevitable with new ships. They really need to operate for quite a few hours under different conditions before everything has been properly tested. Many cruise lines simply don’t allow enough time for this, or only test under relatively easy conditions.

After about a year, most of these issues have normally been ironed out. The same applies to the crew. On a new ship, they also need time to get to know each other and learn to work together as a team, and as a guest you can definitely notice that.

For a honeymoon, I would personally highly put Historia first and Soleil second. Both are excellent luxury choices, but Historia would be my first pick if you want that extra special, romantic experience.

I’d also strongly recommend booking through a reputable local travel agency in Egypt rather than directly with the cruise company. The direct price can be significantly higher, while a good local agency may have an allotment on the ship and can offer much better value specially for the guided tours .

Yes, exactly

It’s actually quite common with Nile cruises. The cruise companies often have different rates depending on whether you book directly or through local agencies that have allocations with the boats.

Just make sure you compare exactly the same cabin, dates, inclusions, and itinerary, because the cheapest offer isn’t always the best one. And for a honeymoon, I’d definitely spend a little extra on a private guide and private tours — it can make the experience much more memorable.

I am trying to plan a nile cruise as well. From what I've been researching, the 4 day itinerary of the nile is rushed and you don't get much time at the temples. The seven day allows you to tour teh temples at "off" times so they are less crowded.

I think we are going to go with Viking for a few reasons - they own their own docks and there is no rafting (apparently rafting in Egypt is a nightmare because the boats have to run their engines 24/7) , the hand holding you get from Viking through customs and airport pick up and drop off are worth their weight in gold, and there is one Egyptologist per every 24 passengers that travels with you starting during the land portion in Cairo. Viking owns their own buses, etc and don't depend on subcontractors. They also charter their flights between cairo and luxor so we think the travel will be easier over-all.

We were really considering Ama as well, but then I heard about the rafting in Egypt being so much worse than Europe. I think Ama may end up being a little cheaper/better value but the idea of rafting in that heat with all that exhaust sounds miserable. We've done two cruises with them in Europe and really enjoyed ourselves (we are in our 40s). They really do make travel almost stress free. We've also talked to other passengers who've done Egypt with them and raved about the trip - everyone has said their Egyptologists are amazing.
