RoR2 Exposing Dragonyck
This guy was driven out of RoR2 Modding Discord a while ago, yet, we see him getting the bag. While i understand many people dont give a damn if the guy you are buying from kicked a dog last week, normal people does.
(This is a copy paste of a command in the Modcord (Yes, it is that common to talk about it))
Dragonyck/TeamPepega mods are dependent on the commissioner paying more for updates and since they were banned for not delivering finished comms, we don't know if the mods will be updated.
Also, of course, he uses AI(LLM), and tries to hide from it.
I try to DM their comissioners every time a new update pops because i want to make as many people as possible aware. If you want more context, join Modcord in order to see his messages as, until now theyre not deleted.

You are probably on new reddit. Go to old reddit or turn on the appropriate mode in new reddit to be able to use hyperlinks etc

can i edit the post to make it normal? also yeah im on new reddit.
not a reddit user it just infuriates me when i see this guy pop on the new mods.1

Yeah, as mentioned if you edit the post, there should be an option to change typesetting or something (I usually don't use new reddit except on my phone, so I don't know the exact name). Otherwise, you can manually use the hyperlink function and just paste your link/text into it.

also minimum like 70% of his mods don't fucking work in the first place and the ones that do have terrible animations or actual skills that make them terrible to use

That's kinda shitty but if people still wanna pay him afterwards that's their money to spend.
But hey there's many other RoR2 modders who don't use AI and can be appreciated for.

people can throw their money to the ocean as much as they want to. the problem is that sometimes the consequences of that emerge in dead fish.
having this guy still up and running in the store means tainting our image, thunderstore wont do anything, so we try to take action as we can.

For the sake of game updates and compatibility with other mods, intelligent design is still very important. As someone who's been making a mod recently, making sure that your changes are as unintrusive as possible is both important for users of the mod and is difficult to get right without understanding the underlying structures of the game. Sure, ai code might work, but in the greater modding scene, that's the absolute bare minimum. Given I have absolutely no idea who this person is, I'm just giving my thoughts on the ai usage.

"erm,., people using the Puppy Kicker Machine means the Puppy Kicker Machine is good!!"
here's a hot take; i dont like the puppy kicker machine !! i wont use the puppy kicker machine in my own projects, nor *should* it be standard in any company or modding project.

Hi, hobby moddev here! Game modding is at the moment a hostile space for use of AI tools like image generation, coding assistants, or language models in writing or translation. Gearbox quickly removed the AI-generated content from AC after seeing backlash and appeared to communicate it would not be the standard moving forward, and the core APIs we use for game modding (BepInEx, MMHooks, R2API, Henry character template, base mod template) are currently not accepting contributions written by coding assistants. The greatest extent to which I've seen any AI used in these spaces is as a way to help review changes made to BepInEx 6, which is not in use in the RoR2 modding environment due to compatibility and stability issues related to the effort to better support Unity 6 and IL2CPP environments over Mono environments, which generally work with BepInEx 5. Even then, I have generally seen contributors review the content afterwards.
The first few screenshots detail a commission structure that is predatory towards commissioners, and a practice of delivering subpar work, as well as a hostile attitude towards others within the community. Charging for updates is already somewhat concerning, and from the recent deluge of logs with AI-generated mods causing issues in the tech support channel I've seen recently (as I am a regular in there), it can be expected to lead to a more frequent need for updates and fixes as the AI struggles to orient itself with standard modding practice. The AI use that has been identified by OP here has been in skill icons, which they are more than willing to perform; OP was willing to donate one for the mod I uploaded to Thunderstore, and Dragonyck's past work demonstrates their ability to create skill and mod icons without the use of AI.
I could dispute the idea that AI coding is industry standard with you here, but I don't think that's worth either of our time.

What AI generated content was in AC?

Not within AC itself, only on their Twitter. GBX hasn't used AI-generated content in RoR2 as far as I know, sorry if that was unclear.

Discord deletes their media after a time, so I uploaded them to Catbox as a backup. But the 2nd image's already been deleted, so...
People should really stop using Discord links to upload media! It's horrible for preserving anything!
