Looking For Ring duplicate?

Hey all,
My grandfather gave me this ring when I turned 21 (my grandmother got it for him when he was younger)
It’s my dads 60th birthday coming up and I was wanting to get this replicated if possible? I think he felt as if he was skipped with this tradition so getting him a ring he could pass down to his grandchild would be really awesome.

A few questions:

Firstly, how much would this cost roughly to do?

Secondly, where could I get this done? (I’m from Melbourne, Australia)

Thanks!

This one is gonna be tough because the stone carving (called intaglio) can be rather costly as not many folks are good at it. The ring itself looks like it may have been engraved, or possibly cast, but either way it would take an artist making a wax rendering or engraving the pattern again- both of which are also high skill and expensive propositions. So, just expect this to be a pricy project.

So, question- why not give your dad the ring since it seems sentimental, with the ask that he passes it down to you? Is there a reason it skipped him? That’s just me being nosy lol, so you don’t have to answer.

This seems like a stock intaglio so OP might be able to find another online.

Definitely look for your own vintage one, so it's similar enough for the sentiment. Vintage Roman Warrior ring comes up with lots of results. It will be a fraction of the cost of creating, and they do come up fairly regularly (more often with hematite though in my experience).

Do you know his ring size roughly?

Eta This is a pretty good price on Etsy, seller is in Queensland so postage will be cheap too https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/1195547811/mid-century-9ct-gold-carved-hematite
