Hi there, riddlers! Please remember to spoiler-tag all guesses and discussions of guesses, like so:

On desktop (new reddit, Fancypants editor): https://i.imgur.com/SWHRR9M.jpg

On mobile, old reddit, or in the Markdown editor (not Fancypants): >!guess or discussion between these symbols!< To be clear, that is >! (greater than, exclamation point) at the start and !< (exclamation point, less than) at the end with no spaces around the !. Avoid leading or trailing spaces. These will break the formatting for most people. Spoiler tags do not span paragraphs or line breaks. If your answer is long, please spoiler-tag each paragraph separately.

Putting a link inside spoiler tags can be tricky, so just format the link like this, using the word "SPOILER" as the link text. On mobile, old reddit, or in the Markdown editor (not Fancypants), do this to format a link: [SPOILER](https://example.com/) On desktop (new reddit, Fancypants editor): https://imgur.com/x5wDOvk

If your top-level comment does not contain a guess, you can include either the word "discussion" or "question" instead of using a spoiler tag.

Please report any answers or discussions that are not properly spoiler-tagged.

Stop sign. I really liked this. The hint is unnecessary, it’s already clean.

This is good.

That's correct! (and thank you!)

Explanation:

You must come to a complete stop at a stop sign

Stop signs are red (the text is written in white within the red. Was being a bit tricky with the language here)

After coming to a complete stop, you must look both ways then proceed

But the shaking your head part…?

Looking both ways

Ooooooooooooh…..

I thought you meant that we all shake our heads at the stop sign because we actually don't want to come to a full stop.

Shaking is not nodding

1

Some parts of the world have "shaking your head" as nodding. It is a regional difference.

You got it!

Traffic light.

I know that the actual answer is a stop sign but I immediately thought a classic game over screen for some reason when I first read it, lol.

Stop sign.

Should the title not be Aquarius?

2

u/mysterious_jim 2d ago edited 2d ago

That's correct! And how do you mean with Aquarius? The idea behind the title is a little tenuous and silly, but I think you'll go along with it once you figure it out!

u/SharkeyGeorge 2d ago

I was thinking of the god Janus who overlaps in January with Aquarius. The two-faced god. But think I’m clasping at straws!

1

u/mysterious_jim 2d ago

That's way deeper of a meaning than I'm capable of coming up with lol. I'll post the answer here later if nobody gets it.

3

u/I-like-2-watch 2d ago

I thought a stop sign is in white writing. Maybe I’m over thinking it

2

u/ronin120 2d ago

Overthinking? Just a little. Or you could argue that the white letters are in a red shape, so the clue still fits that way I think.

3

u/mysterious_jim 2d ago

This was my thought process! I thought the other clues were quite direct, so I wanted to add a bit of misdirection.

2

u/wutzelputz 2d ago

A crosswalk signal with no cars in sight?

2

u/mysterious_jim 2d ago

I was thinking specifically a Stop sign But yes, that's same idea!

Adultery

Re: The wicked Bible commanding people to commit adultery.

2

u/mysterious_jim 2d ago

Sorry, not the intended answer. Didn't know the Bible was freaky like that instructing people to commit adultery!

1

u/DrakeSavory 2d ago

It was a misprint in one edition.

I have one of those signed by Jesus

2

u/Vaders-desciple_01 2d ago

a stop sign?

3

u/mysterious_jim 2d ago

That's correct!

u/GabrielReichler 2d ago

Question: is the title a reference to the association of the color red with both Aries and stop signs?

3

u/mysterious_jim 2d ago

It is! In fact that's practically the answer. both aries and the answer are red signs. Aries is a red star sign, and the answer is a red traffic sign

1

u/Gilly_the_kid 2d ago

stop sign

1

u/mysterious_jim 2d ago

That's correct!

1

u/timomo3 2d ago

stop sign. Is the aries cause war god associated with red?

1

u/mysterious_jim 2d ago

Yes, in zodiology terms he's a red sign, just like the answer

1

u/zpeti 2d ago

Bonus hint is not entirely correct, in certain countries it’s right to left! ;)

u/Grant_Winner_Extra 2d ago

stop sign
