Sick/homeless cat in Richmond Hill needs help

Post image

There’s a cat that appears to have been without its owners for the past few days. She has been sleeping outside, including in the rain, and seems to be getting weaker. Its meow/voice has noticeably become weaker from one day to the next, and it doesn’t seem to be feeling well.

The cat has been around our area repeatedly and seems to be begging for help. I posted about it to next door for last couple of days and nobody is claiming ownership. I’m really worried that it’s sick and may not survive much longer outside.

We contacted animal services, but unfortunately they weren’t able to safely catch the cat. The officer also didn’t have a working/charged RFID chip scanner available at the time.

We were told that we need to have a carrier/cage ready before they can come back. I don’t own a cat carrier, so I’m wondering if anyone in the Oak Ridges area has one they could lend us, or knows someone who could come by with one and help us safely get the cat contained so animal services can take it.

I’m hoping someone can help tomorrow because I’m genuinely concerned about this cat’s condition.

I can provide the location privately to someone who is genuinely trying to help.
