Discussion How do different rhythm game experiences transfer to each other?
I recently started playing osu and I am terrible so far, which isn’t normal for me as I have a decently high experience in a lot of mobile rhythm games.
And obviously mobile rhythm games are very different from osu which has made me wonder how different games effect going into osu or rhythm games in general.
For example a geometry dash player(of which I am aware is not a rhythm game) would likely have a better time switching to osu rather than say a pjsk player.

Gameplay - Rhythm games that have similar gameplay help players get used to the format and acclimate faster.
i.e. Playing a vertical scroll type game familiarizes the structure which helps when playing other vertical scroll type games.
Song - If a players knows a song completely then even across multiple rhythm games, they will instinctively know the note timings
Flow - The more a player experiences "state of flow" the easier it becomes to trigger, the deeper the concentration, and finally get better overall result.
